Abstract

A cable organising device comprises a receptacle 1 including a first housing member 10 and a second housing member 20. The first housing member 10 has a bottom wall 11, a rear wall 12 and two end walls 13 that form a chamber 14, wherein at least one post 17 extends from the bottom wall 11 for engaging and winding a cable 8, the post(s) 17 having an enlarged head 18. The second housing member 20 has a front wall 22 that is pivotally coupled to the bottom wall 12 of the first housing member 10 via a hinge member 21 allowing the bottom wall 15 of the first housing member 10 and the front wall 22 of the second housing member 20 to be pivoted and folded relative to each other. The end walls 13, 24 of the first and second housing members 10, 20 include a triangular structure containing a channel 15, 26 for receiving the cable 8. The first housing member 10 has a series of apertures 19 formed in the bottom wall 11 and the second housing member 20 has an upper wall 23 with a series of projections 27 that fit into corresponding apertures 19 in the bottom wall 11 of another receptacle 1 to allow vertical stacking of plural receptacles 1.

Description

CABLE ORGANIZING DEVICE
The invention relates to a cable organizing device, and more particularly to a cable organizing device including an improved structure or configuration for solidly and stably winding and storing and organizing one or more wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
Typical cable organizer or organizing devices comprise a casing or housing having a plate or wall member which includes one or more openings or orifices or notches formed therein for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables and for winding and storing and organizing the wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
For example, U.S. Patent No. 4,721,268 to Lerner et al., U.S. Patent No. 6,736,669 to Martin et al., U.S. Patent No. 7,433,571 to Kendricks, U.S. Patent No. 7,446,260 to Hammonds, U.S. Patent No. 7,607,618 to Mon et al., U.S. Patent No. 7,882,660 to Judd, and U.S. Patent No. 8,076,584 to Huang et al. disclose several of the typical cable organizing devices each comprising a casing or housing having a compartment or chamber or one or more openings or orifices or notches formed therein for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables and for winding and storing and organizing the wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the casing or housing of the cable organizing device.
However, the wires or cables may only be randomly or loosely received or engaged within the casing or housing of the cable organizing device and may not be solidly and stably anchored or retained or positioned within the casing or housing, and may have a good chance to be disengaged from the casing or housing in advertently.
It is accordingly an object of the invention to provide a cable organizing device including an finproved structure or configuration for solidly and stably winding and storing and organizing one or more wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to the invention there is provided a cable organizing device comprising:-a receptacle including a first housing member having a bottom wall, and a rear wall and two end walls extended upwardly from the bottom wall for forming and defining a chamber in the first housing member, and a second housing member including a front wall pivotally coupled to the bottom wall of the first housing member with a hinge member for allowing the bottom wall of the first housing member and the front wall of the second housing member to be pivoted and folded relative to each other; and the first housing member including at least one post extended from the bottom wall and extended into the chamber of the first housing member for winding and engaging with a cable and for receiving and organizing and storing the cable within the chamber of the first housing member.
The end walls of the first housing member each include an opening formed therein and communicating with the chamber of the first housing member for receiving and engaging with the cable. The first housing member includes at least one notch formed iii the rear wall and communicating with the chamber of the first housing member for receiving and engaging with the cable.
The first housing member includes an enlarged head formed and provided on top of the post for anchoring the cable on the post and for preventing the cable from being disengaged from the post.
The first housing member includes at least one orifice formed in the bottom wall. The end walls of the first housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between the bottom wall and the rear wall of the first housing member.
The second housing member includes an upper wall and two end panels extended from the front wall for forming and defining a compartment in the second housing member. The end panels of the second housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between the upper wall and the front wall of the second housing member.
The end panels of the second housing member each include a channel formed therein and communicating with the compartment of the second housing member. The channel of the end panel of the second housing member is spaced from the opening of the end wall of the first housing member when the first and the second housing members are folded toward each other.
The second housing member includes at least one projection extended outwardly from the upper wall. A bar may include one or more cavities formed therein for selectively engaging with the projections and for shielding and covering or protecting the projections and for preventing the projections from being exposed and contacted or engaged with the other objects.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a cable organizing device in accordance with the invention; FIG. 2 is another perspective view of the cable organizing device, at an opened condition or status; FIGS. 3, 4 are partial perspective views illustrating the operation of the cable organizing device; FIGS. 5, 6 are perspective views illustrating the other operation of the cable organizing device; and FIGS. 7, 8 are exploded views illustrating the operation of the cable organizing device.
DESCRIPTION OF TUE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a cable organizing device in accordance with the invention comprises a receptacle 1 including two housing members 10, 20 pivotally or rotatably secured or coupled together with a pivot joint or hinge member 21 to form a spatial or three-dimensional or parallelepiped structure or configuration, for example, the first housing member 10 includes a lower or bottom portion or wall 11, and a side or rear panel or wall 12 and one or more (such as two) side or end panels or walls 13 extended upwardly from the bottom wall 11 for forming or defining a compartment or chamber 14 in the first housing member 10, in which the end walls 13 each include a substantially triangular structure or configuration or contour secured or coupled between the bottom wall 11 and the rear wall 12 of the first housing member 10.
The second housing member 20 includes a side or front panel or wall 22 pivotally or rotatably attached or secured or coupled to the bottom wall 11 of the first housing member 10 with the pivot joint or hinge member 21 for allowing the bottom wall 11 of the first housing member 10 and the front wall 22 of the second housing member 20 to be pivoted or rotated or folded relative to each other; and includes an upper portion or wall 23 and one or more (such as two) side or end or walls or panels 24 extended from the front wall 22 for forming or defining a chamber or compartment 25 in the second housing member 20, in which the end panels 24 each include a substantially triangular structure or configuration or contour secured or coupled between the upper wall 23 and the front wall 22 of the second housing member 20.
The chamber 14 of the first housing member 10 and the compartment 25 of the second housing member 20 may be communicated with each other when the housing members 10, 20 are folded toward each other, for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables 8 (FIGS. 3, 4), and the end walls 13 of the first housing member 10 each include a groove or notch or channel or opening 15 formed therein and communicating with the chamber 14 of the first housing member 10 also for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables 8, and the end panels 24 of the second housing member 20 each also include a notch or opening or groove or channel 26 formed therein and communicating with the compartment 25 of the second housing member 20 also for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables 8. The housing members 10, 20 may be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with force-fitted engagements, quick release mechanisms, latches or fasteners (not illustrated).
It is preferable that the opening 15 of the end wall 13 of the first housing member 10 and the channel 26 of the end panel 24 of the second housing member 20 are offset or spaced or separated from each other when the housing members 10, 20 are folded toward each other (FIGS. 1, 3). The rear wall 12 of the first housing member 10 further includes one or more (such as two) openings or grooves or channels or notches 16 formed therein and also communicating with the chamber 14 of the first housing member 10 and also for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables 8, and the first housing member 10 further includes one or more (such as three) pegs or columns or posts 17 extended upwardly from the bottom wall 11 and extended into the chamber 14 of the first housing member 10 for winding or engaging with the wires or cables 8 (FIG. 4).
It is preferable that the first housing member 10 further includes an enlarged head 18 formed or provided on top of each of the posts 17 for solidly and stably anchoring or retaining or positioning the wires or cables 8 on the posts 17 and for preventing the wires or cables 8 from being disengaged or separated or removed from the posts 17, and the first housing member 10 further includes one or more apertures or openings or orifices 19 formed in the bottom wall 11 and spaced or separated or offset from the posts 17, and the second housing member 20 further includes one or more pegs or columns or pins or keys or projections 27 extended upwardly and outwardly from the upper wall 23 for engaging with the orifices 19 of the other receptacle 1 (FIGS. 5, 7) for allowing the receptacles 1 to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with the orifices 19 and the projections 27.
In operation, as shown iii FIG. 4, when the housing members 10, are folded or separated or disengaged from each other at an open or working position, the wires or cables 8 may be easily and quickly wound or engaged onto the posts 17 and may be prevented from being disengaged or separated or removed from the posts 17 with the enlarged heads 18 of the posts 17, and the wires or cables 8 may then be engaged into or engaged through the openings 15 of the end walls 13 of the first housing member 10 so as to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or positioned within the chamber 14 of the first housing member 10. The second housing member 20 may then be folded or pivoted or rotated and engaged onto the first housing member 10 (FIG. 3) for further solidly and stably anchoring or retaining or positioning the wires or cables 8 within the chamber 14 of the first housing member 10.
As shown in FIGS. 6 and 8, a beam or rod or bar 30 may further be provided and includes one or more apertures or openings or orifices or holes or cavities 31 formed therein for selectively engaging with the projections 27 of the receptacles 1 and for allowing the receptacles I to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with the bar 30 (FIG. 6), or

as shown in FIG. 8, the projections 27 of the receptacle 1 may be engaged into the cavities 31 of the bar 30 and may be shielded and covered or protected by the bar 30 for preventing the projections 27 of the receptacle I from being exposed and for preventing the projections 27 from being contacted or engaged with the other objects or the like.
