Joint pins.-Shackle or similar connections between a spring and the frame or axle of a vehicle are constructed with a multiplicity of interfitting bearing surfaces extending substantially parallel to the spring so as to oppose transverse play. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, one of the eyes 5 of a semi-elliptic front spring is fitted with a threaded bushing 6 pressed into place. The screwed pin 7 is fixed in the shackle 9 so that relative movement takes place between the threads of the pin and bush. Compressible packing washers 8 are provided. In a modification applied to the front end of a rear cantilever spring where the angular movement of the spring eye is small, the threaded bush loosely engages a hardened steel ferrule placed on a bolt carried in the shackle. In this case the bush is intended to rock on the ferrule so that lubrication is unnecessary.
