Abstract

An oven glove 1 has an outer layer (3, figure 1) of microfiber on one surface thus enabling the glove 1 to be detachably connected to hook strips of hook and loop tape attached to an apron 4 or other garment.

Description

Intellectual Property Office Applicacion Nc,. (lB I 402352.4 RTM Daft:7 March 2014 The following terms are registered trademarks and shoffid he read as such wherever they occur in this document: Velcro Inlelleclual Properly Office is an operaling name of the Pateni Office www.ipo.gov.uk Oven glove.
This invention relates to the use of microfiber on the underside outer layer of an oven glove enabling the oven glove to adhere to an apron.
Oven gloves (in this request, description, claim and abstract the word gloves shall connote oven gloves, oven mitts or oven pockets). When cooking in the kitchen you need to use oven gloves to handle hot dishes. Very often you cannot find your oven gloves as they are not attached to the apron (in this request, description, claim and abstract the word apron can connote apron, overall, garment or clothing). If fibrous strips of the kind known as VelcroTM are sewn, secured or glued to the apron and also to the underside of the oven glove, the oven glove will stick to the front of the apron. However, in order for the oven glove to stick to the apron, the VelcroTM on both the apron and oven glove must be accurately matched together. Time and precision is required to align the corresponding VelcroTM together. The VelcroTM can only be secured to the top wrist area on the oven glove, so as to avoid direct contact with hot dishes where it would be at risk of burning. To overcome these problems the present invention proposes an oven glove which has the underside, outer layer made of microfiber. This allows the whole area of the underside of the glove made with microfiber to be quickly and easily attached to the hook side of VelcroTM sewn, secured or glued on to the apron, without the need to align and match together. This enables the oven gloves to be easily and quickly attached to and removed from the apron in a very quick and simply manner.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a pair of oven gloves, one showing the front view and the other showing the back/underside view.
Figure 2 shows the apron with the hook side of VelcroTM cut into strips and attached to the apron.
Figure 3 shows the apron with the hook side of VelcroTM cut into circles and attached to the apron.
Figure 4 shows an apron with the pair of oven gloves attached to the Velcro'TM sewn on to the front of the apron Figure 5 shows oven glove 1 with the different layers of materials used to manufacture the oven glove, and the layer of microfiber 3 on the bottom, underside.
In figure 1, an oven glove (1) displays the front view of the oven glove. The oven glove (2) displays the rear, underside view of the oven glove. (3) Shows the microfiber as the material used to make the outer layer of the underside of the oven glove.
Figure 2 shows an apron (4) with the hook' side of VelcroTM (5), cut into strips and sewn, secured or glued onto the apron in a position best suited for maximum coverage to allow the full underside microfiber surface area of the oven glove to be attached to the Velcro.
Figure 3 shows an apron (4) with the hook' side of VelcroTM (5), cut into circles and sewn, secured or glued onto the apron in a position best suited for maximum coverage to allow the full underside microfiber surface area of the oven glove to be attached to the Velcro.
Figure 4 displays the oven gloves (1) attached to the front of the apron (4) by means of the underside microfiber layer (3) (in FIG 1) attached to the Velcro (5) (in FIG 2).
Figure 5 displays the oven glove (1) in the exploded form) showing the eight different layers of fabric used to make the oven glove. The layer of microfiber (3) is displayed as the bottom, underside outer layer which adheres to the hook side of VeIcroTM (5) (in FIG 2) sewn on to the apron.
The gloves themselves are manufactured in the usual form of heat resistant, insulated gloves, suitable for the handling of all hot dishes that could not properly be handled by bare hands.
