Abstract

A cover strip/trim unit 1, which can cover defective or corner joints 4 without the need to replace two or more worktop's etc. The shape/shapes of the formed cover strip/trim unit hugs the contours of the worktops 5 edges regardless of their thickness. The curved top front 2 can vary according to design and application. This invention relates to corner joints application. Preferably the cover strip includes a T-bar 7section or pin section for fixing.

Description

Cover Strip/Trim Unit Profile for Corner Joint This invention relates to a cover strip/trim unit, which covers up, damaged or chipped corner joints. Cover strips/trim units are commonly used to cover damaged areas of work joints but are only supplied for joints that butt together using end profile cover strip or T' bar cover strip profiles for jointing two worktops together.
However, because of the design of corner joints on millions of worktops etc, the commonly aforementioned cover strips or trims, do not work. This invention provides a cover strip/trim unit profile, which addresses this problem, without the need to replace worktops etc, which are at right angles to each other. This invention also maintains the integrity of the existing two adjacent worktops, which can be at right angles or any other angle to each other.
The shape/shapes of the cover strip/trim unit will amply cover any defective area of joint damage.
The invention means the cover strip/trim unit can be returned as necessary, under the lip of the worktop for fixing purposes.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 Shows a cover strip/trim unit, which can fit into a damaged worktop and returned under both worktops.
Figure 2 Shows an alternative cover strip/trim unit and how it could fit any corner joint, returning under just one worktop at the angled section. A broken line 7 shows a T' bar if required.
Figure 3 Shows a cover strip/trim unit with another shape or look for fitting to a corner joint joint, also returning under one worktop.
Figure 4 Shows an example of a corner joint in plan view Figure 5 Shows an example of a cover strip/trim unit, which fixes flat to the corner joint surface. It also shows the corner joint in broken line. 1 shows worktops at right angles.
Figure 6 Shows an example of an end view section, which gives the cover strip/trim unit with T' bar 7 if required according to application.
Figure 1 shows the cover strip/trim unit I returning under worktop etc shape 5, which will help to fix the unit to any corner joint. A shaped look 2 will give an aesthetic look to the flat top end pieces of this unit, whilst the cover strip/trim unit shape curves 3 fit snugly to the shape of any corner joint. The length and width of the cover strip/trim unit 1 depends on the application.* Figure 2 the invention shows an alternative embodiment in which the cover strip/trim unit, shows lust a single return, shape 3, which goes under a worktop etc for fixing purposes. It still has a shaped curve to the flat top of unit 2 and still retains a worktop etc edge shaped curve 5 which can be adapted to suit any size or thickness of corner joint.
Figure 3 shows another cover strip/trim unit with a narrower curve to the flat top 2 designed to follow the shape of the corner joint if requires depending on application. Figure 3 again shows the unit with flat top 1 with width and length again dependant on application. It also shows 3 the curved shape which replicates the worktop or bench edge shape.
Figure 4 shows a corner joint 2 as seen from a plan view perspective. This shaped joint is difficult to cover and the invention will make this happen. The cover strip/trim unit can be seen covering the joint in broken line format as seen in plan view. Worktop's etc as shown 1.
Figure 5 shows an example of a cover strip/trim unit which fixes flat to the corner joint surface. It also shows corner joint in broken line. 1 shows the joint at right angles.
Figure 6 shows an example of an end view section which gives the cover strip/trim unit with T' bar 7 if required according to application.
Any of the cover strip/trim unit may contain logos, designed, slogans text or other patterns, texture or styles of aesthetic marking form in manufacture or construction moulding, dyeing or otherwise.* A corner joint cover strip/trim unit or profile or plurality of strip profile or section/sections manufactured by any material or process which can accurately or adequately cover any given corner joint close to or completely above or around a corner joint/systems for work tops etc which need to be covered in cases of damage or plurality or damages of any kind, replacing or eliminating the need for worktop replacement or substantive repair. * The cover strip/trim unit can be used in domestic or commercial or industrial buildings and can be made in a variety of colours or sizes or plurality of colours or sizes or otherwise.* All profile's mentioned in figures 1 -5 can be left/right handed according to application and fitted with a T' bar section or pin section for fixing if required.
See figure 6 and 7.
NB *Any points marked with an asterisk represents examples that are not limited to a small range mentioned in the text, and whose principles can be extended to all other similar materials, processes, functions, properties, principles, colour or size.
