Abstract
A squat stand, formed from a series of bent bars A joined at their tops by plastic sleeves K on which a barbell may rest. Strong, tight, black plastics covered connectors C are used to join the bent bars along their lengths and an interlocking bridge bar B1, made of two halves is bolted together through holes H. A Plastics covered base E is provided in which the free ends of the bent bars A, are mounted and held upright. Alternatively the bars may be mounted in steel blocks which are then held in a tray. A padded barbell with offset handles is also described.
Description
BARBELL STAND FOR SQUAT EXERCISES
This barbell stand has been designed to compliment the Combination Squat Bench, but can be used in any gym using free weights when performing the squat exercise.
In FIG 1 we see a series of four bent upright tubes marked A that are firmly, and securely joined together as a fence, and the bent tubes stand at different heights, and are joined near the tops by a strong durable plastic cradles marked K. These cradles K are designed to fit and house the barbell when at rest or when it is being loaded or unloaded with free weight discs.
The strong very tight connectors marked C are covered with a black, durable, plastic, neat cover Also to make the frame solid, strong, and stable an interlocking bridge bar marked B! which is made up of two halves, that is fitted and bolted together using the holes marked H which can be seen in FIGI, and FIG!! these holes are aligned so that the two halves of the bar B fit tightly togethec In FIG 11 we are shown the opposite half ofBl which is marked B2, and in FIG!!! we see an edge on view of the same bar marked B3 which shows the half cut circles that firmly fit around the steel tubes marked A. The base E arid its' construction can be seen in more detail in drawing 2, and the base E is covered by a strong, durable plastic cover marked D, which has eight holes each positioned to allow the free ends of tubes A to pass through them and fit into the base marked E.
BARBELL STAND FOR SQUAT EXERCISES
Drawing No. 2 is made up of five figures with number FIG lV as an enlargement of number three to show it in more detail.
In FIG1 it shows a narrow fray made of strong durable plastic, and marked T. This fray has one end blocked off to allow the steel blocks C FIG 11 to be slid and pushed up tight to the block end of the tray.
The steel blocks marked C are precision made, and the holes F are pre-drilled to fit exactly the measured diameter of the tubular uprights marked A. In the centre of the holes marked E is a deeper pre-drilled hole marked 0, and it is the perfect size to give a snug fit to the steel rod marked B which is measured to fit snugly inside the tube marked A which in turn fits its' free end tightly into the pre-drilled hole B. This gives a very solid, strong joint at the base of the unit.
To fbrther enhance its' stability an end block marked K FIG V is fitted at the open end of the fray T to make a tight, solid unit of the four steel blocks marked C this is locked into position by the locking clips J FIG V. Protruding beyond the locking plate K is a small flat foot marked F with a bolt hole marked S to bolt the Tray T into its' foundation position. The other end of the tray T also has a similar that plate containing a bolt hole S.
BARBELL STAND FOR SQUAT EXERCISES
Here in drawing No.3 the designed barbell J is shown.
in the centre of the barbell marked J we see a mbherised padding Marked E and this padding is made of a tough durable plastic that contains some give in it for the right quality needed.
The inner collars marked D are securely positioned to give an equal amount of bar each end of the barbell 11w good balance. These collars are always fitted to remain outside the squat stand cradles as seen in drawing I and marked K for safe resting.
The handles marked H with its' inner grip Cl are positioned between the centre padding arid the collars. These handles are adjustable for the needs of different people when doing the squat exercise.
A free weight disc can be seen in FIG111 marked W, and these discs are slid over the ends of the barbell I when loading and unloading the barbeR
BARBELL STAND FOR SQUAT EXERCISES
In this drawing of No. 4 we see a great similarity to thawing No. 1 except we have a FIG Ii which shows the method ofjoining the right-hand frame FIG 1 to the left-hand frame, which is a minor image, but not shown herein this drawing.
What we see is a cut-away portion of a solid round connecting bar marked T, and its' machined threaded ends marked W which pass through the end holes marked F, and is then securely locked with the screw nuts marked N. The opposite securing frame bars to those marked Dl in FIG1 can be seen marked as 1B2 in F162 that is belonging to the left-hand frame, not shown.
When bolted and locked together the two frames become one solid unit.
