Description
Page 1 Title: Storage and Garbage Bucket with Protective Trap against Insects, Reptiles, Mosquitos and Flies
Technical Field
This invention relates to a storage bucket, which at the same time can be used as a garbage bucket that contains a trap for insects such as ants, mosquitoes, lizards and flies, where the insects cannot enter into the bucket and will be caught in the trap using the water sprinkle method and slippery surface.
Background Art
There are many types of insects such as mosquitoes that are unwanted annoyance that enter the habitat of humans and are in some cases as dangerous as deadly insects. Tropical regions most specifically face problems with insects due to their abundance in these regions caused by the type of weather.
In 2013, World Health Organization (WHO) announced that almost half of the world's population are now at risk with over 100 million infections caused by a certain type of mosquito that are estimated to occur annually in over 100 endemic countries and these figures are constantly on the rise.
There are several types of solutions used for getting rid of insects, some of which are the use of insecticides that involve chemical substances that cause harm to the respiratory system of humans as well.
Other methods such as fogging lack the efficiency of getting rid of unwanted mosquitoes. This method only drives mosquitoes away from one location to other locations where they can gather and form a stronger base for their reproduction. In this case, they can even evolve into stronger generations of mosquitoes.
Also, there are many traps designed using various attractants that have proven to be effective in attracting insects but still lack the efficiency in capturing them and preventing them from entering a certain building.
Page 2 Overall, the existing solutions for attracting and capturing insects lack the efficiency particularly for locations such as tropical regions. In these regions, especially during the rain and right after the rain, insects seek shelter in entering buildings and houses, therefore causing disturbance and in some cases, infections for people. Until today, there are no products that can fully protect houses and other types of buildings from insects entering them.
Objectives of this Invention: -To trap insects in a specific building or house in an efficient way, where the house or building becomes entirely insect free.
-The garbage can which usually acts as a place for the gathering of insects as the food and other materials in the garbage bucket attract them becomes completely protected and they cannot enter it and will be trapped.
-To attract and capture insects using a green system that does not use any chemicals or harmful materials -To replace existing methods that cause pollution to the environment and harm to humans.
-To help create an environment free of unwanted insects especially in tropical regions where this is a problem.
Green Environmental Value of the Invention: -100% natural method for controlling insects and mosquitoes -Overrides the disadvantages of existing insect eradication methods such as fogging, chemical insecticides and inefficient traps.
-Helps in reducing amount of chemicals spread in the air such as the ones used in insect sprays which can cause severe respiratory problems in humans like asthma in children.
-The filter method ensures that all insect eggs and larvae are eradicated without using any chemicals or harming the environment.

Description of the Invention
Parts of the Device: The garbage bucket or storage bucket can be used for storing food such as rice or sugar or any kind of food or item for protecting against insects. Alternatively, it can be used as a garbage bucket that is protected against insects.
The invention consists of a bucket (1) that is covered on the top and contains three sections.
The first section is the bucket (1) with cover (2) and an attached water sprinkler shower (4). The second section is the passage tunnel containing the pump (7), the filter (6) and the netted section (8) which allows the water to flow back in the passage tunnel. The third section is the tub (10) or basin containing water (9) in it, where the bucket (1) and passage are both placed in the tub (10).
The first section is designed as a simple bucket (1) with a cover (2) on top of it. The bucket (1) encompasses the water sprinkler shower (4) at the very bottom of the bucket. The top of the shower is completely covered while it has nozzles (11) at the bottom of the shower to allow it to sprinkle water at timely intervals as chosen by the user. The nozzles (11) are designed in a way to make the water sprinkle in a slanted way towards the inside so that the water does not get spilled out of the tub (10).
The second section that contains the passage tunnel is made of an external body (5) that encompasses the pump (7), the filter (6) and netted openings (8) to allow the water to be pumped back into the filtering (6) and shower unit (4). The outside body (5) of the passage tunnel is made of a slippery material such as glass or polished aluminum to prevent insects or lizards from being able to climb up even if they pass the water in the tub (10).
The third section consists of the tub (10) that contains water in it. The passage tunnel and the bucket (1) are both based in the tub (10). The water in the tub prevents insects from entering the bucket (1) in any way.
Page 4 How the Invention Works: As can be seen in Figure 1, the bucket (1) is closed with a cover (2) from the top protecting the inside contents from mosquitos, flies and other insects. At the bottom, the water filled tub (10) protects the bucket (1) from any insects entering the bucket (1). Water is a simple, yet efficient way to protect it from any insects such as ants or lizards. The tub (10) is filled with water (9) that is continuously filtered and recycled back.
As can be seen on Figure 1 and Figure 2, the water from the tub (10) enters the filter (6) section of the bucket through the netted openings (8) and gets pumped up through the filter (6). The filtered water then reaches the water sprinkler shower (4) section where it gets sprinkled back down to the tub (10) through the shower nozzles (11) that are shown in Figure 3. The regularity of the sprinkle rains can be adjusted depending on the user needs. For instance, it can be set to sprinkle water for 30 seconds or 1 minute every 20 minutes or any other timing sessions as chosen by the user. Additionally, a timer can be added as an extra option to the bucket to setup time intervals for the rain shower to work based on the timer settings.
The outside body of the passage (5) tunnel which is made of slippery material as discussed earlier acts as a barrier for insects, ants and specially lizards to climb up the bucket because they cannot overcome the slippery surface. Adding to that, when the water sprinkler shower (4) sprinkles the water downwards and inwards, it also wets the surface of the passage tunnel (5) which makes it even slipperier for any creature to be able to climb up the passage.
Lastly, any flies or mosquitoes flying around this area attracted by the smell of food, garbage or as some mosquitoes are attracted by water, they fly around the area surrounding the bucket (1), get hit by the sprinkle shower (4) force and fall into the water filled tub (10). Therefore, the sprinkler shower force also helps in protecting the bucket (1) from mosquitoes or other flying insects and trapping them.
Claims (5)
- Page 5 Claims 1. A bucket with an insect, mosquito and reptile trap device comprising a water sprinkle unit which creates scheduled artificial rain showers, a passage containing a filter, pump and netted opening all fitted on a water filled tub, where the passage exterior body is made of glass or a polished material to prevent reptiles from crossing.
- 2. A bucket with an insect, mosquito and reptile trap device, according to claim 1, comprising of a water sprinkle unit which creates scheduled rain showers, where the water is sprinkled on the tub in a slanted way towards the inside.
- 3. A bucket with an insect, mosquito and reptile trap device, according to claim 1, in which a slippery passage exterior body is made of glass or polished material where it becomes more slippery as the artificial rain shower water flows on the wall to prevent insects from crossing the wall and traps mosquitoes.
- 4. A bucket with an insect, mosquito and reptile trap device, according to claim 1, in which the water filled tub acts a barrier for insects to pass through and traps them.
- 5. A bucket with an insect, mosquito and reptile trap device, according to claim 1, in which the artificial rain shower sprinkler creates artificial rain at different intervals to hit trap the flying mosquitoes around that area.
