Abstract

A spring band, particularly for sealing a hole in a pipe, has a seal 1, particularly of rubber, and eyelets 2 which may allow the band to be removed using circlip removal pliers. In use, the band may be pushed onto the pipe over the hole. The band may be comprised of metal or resilient plastic, and may be sized for soil pipes or copper water pipes. Preferably the diameter of the band is smaller than that of the pipe, and the pipe is gripped by elastic contraction of the band. In an embodiment, a pipe connector is provided for connecting a branch pipe, such as a waste water pipe, to a main pipe such as a soil pipe.

Introduction & Background to the invention
The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer is designed to seal holes in various pipe sizes.
These holes can be accidental damage or holes drifled into a pipe as a Roding eye or a hole drilled to attach another pipe like a sink waste pipe going into a soil pipe.
The Quick Seal Pipe Seater is a flat strip of metal or other material which is then curl to form a band shape, the quick seal band can be pushed over the pipe to grip as like a bracelet pushed over a wrist, Because the quick seal band diameter is slightly smaller than that of the pipe, the band grips the pipe like a spring. A rubber or other sealing material which is prebonded onto the band is positioned over the hole to create a seal.
lt is the action of the quick seal band being smaller in diameter than the pipe which grips the pipe tight, thus squeezing the rubber seal against the hole.
The Quick Seal band can be manufactured out of steel, plastic or other materials which can be shaped like a band and retain a spring grip.
The seal can be manufactured from rubber or other material suitable for sealing.
The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer can be used for sealing holes in various sizes of pipes including, 15mm and 22mm copper water pipes and 100mm and 150mm soil pipes.
The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer can also be used for connecting a waste water pipe from a sink into a soil pipe, as an example; this is done by bonding a connector to the Quick Seal Pipe Sealer band, when this unit is pushed over a soil pipe with a hole, a sink water waste pipe can then be pushed into the connector.
The advantage with the Quick Seal Pipe Sealer compared to other product that do the same job is that it's quick to fit. This is done by simply pushing the band over the pipe. There are no screws and screwdrivers required and you do not need space around the pipe to get your hands or tools behind a pipe which is up against a wall, because you simply push the Quick Seal band from the front.
Introduction to the drawines
An example of the invention wiU now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows A section of pipe with a hole in it, this hole needs to be repaired and sealed, Figure 2 shows The hole sealed with the Quick Seal Pipe Sealer, the band is pushed over the pipe like a bracelet over a wrist, and it grips the pipe like a spring, this spring grip holds the rubber seal (or other material to seal) tightly over the hole creating a seal.
Figure 3 shows The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer, a band shaped fitting with a rubber seal I which creates the seal when held in place by the band There are two eyes or loops 2, this is for easy removal of the Quick Seal band with a removal tool (a circlip removal pliers).
Detailed description of the invention
The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer is designed to seal holes in various pipe sizes.
it is a flat strip of metal or other material which is then curl to form a band shape, the quick seal band can be pushed over the pipe to grip as like a bracelet pushed over a wrist. Because the quick seal band diameter is slightly smaller than that of the pipe, the band grips the pipe tightly with a spring action. A rubber or other sealing material which is prebonded onto the band is positioned over the hole to create a seal.
It is the action of the quick seal band being smaller in diameter than the pipe which grips the pipe tight with a spring type grip, thus squeezing the rubber seal against the hole.

The Quick Seal Pipe Sealer can also be used for connecting a waste water pipe from a sink into a soil pipe, as an example, this is done by bonding a pipe connector to the Quick Seal Pipe Sealer band, when this unit is pushed over a soil pipe with a hole, a sink water waste pipe can then be pushed into the connector, allowing water to flow through sink waste pipe and into hole in main pipe.
Advantages of the invention The advantage with the Quick Seal Pipe Sealer compared to other product that do the same job is that it's quick to fit. This is done by simply pushing the band over the pipe. There are no screws or screwdrivers required and you do not need space around the pipe to get your hands or tools behind a pipe that is up against a wall, because you simply push the Quick Seal band over the front of the pipe.
It is also cheaper than other products on the market as there are fewer parts.
It is also quicker to fit as you just push it over the pipe and it is secured in place.
