Abstract
The verge marker 2 is moulded, preferably plastic, and is secured to a ground by either a weight inside the marker or pegs 2 going through holes 3 in the marker. Reflectors may be provided. The weight may be located on a tray container. The marker may incorporate integral handles. Illumination or a light source may be included with the marker. An audible warning noise may be included. Linking chains can be attached to the marker.
Description
Moulded verge markers This invention relates to moulded verge markers.
People have marked the grass verges outside their properties with rocks, stones, bollards and logs etc. usually painted white, to stop vehicles parking or driving on for many years. Verge markers are commonly seen.
However, using rocks, stones, bollards, logs and heavy objects can present a problem if a vehicle or pedestrian collides with such objects if they mount the verge.
If damage or injury occurs the land owner may be liable for such damages which could be very expensive and should be avoided.
To overcome these problems the present invention proposes moulded verge markers of any shape and size which are lightweight plastic mouldings which replicate rocks, bollards and logs etc. The plastic molded verge markers have many uses and can be used on grass verges, earth banks, flower beds, gravel drives etc. and as markers in fields or lawns for a variety of purposes.
The verge markers can be produce in white or painted any colour including luminous and have a reflector attached. They can be painted with house number or name.
The plastic moulded verge markers will be virtually unbreakable and if deformed can be pushed back into shape. To prevent the lightweight verge markers from being easily moved or blown away they can be pegged to the ground or have a weight such as a sand bag or water container contained inside.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:-Figure 1 shows in perspective a moulded verge marker with peg holes and pegs.
Figure 2 shows in perspective a moulded verge marker above the internal weight tray.
Figure 3 shows a side view in section of a moulded verge marker with an internal weight tray connected.
One preferred example of a verge marker as show in Figure 1 is where the moulding 1 is positioned on the ground and pegged with pegs 2 through peg holes 3.
As shown in figure 2 an alternative version of the verge marker has a moulding 1 with an internal weight tray 2 secured with screws 3.
Figure 3 shows the verge marker moulding 1 with an internal weight tray 2 which accepts weight 3 which the moulding 1 is connected to the weight tray 2 by screws 4.
Other connecting methods can be used such as integral clips.

- Claims 1. A moulded verge marker comprising a plastic moulding pegged or weighted to the ground.
- 2. A moulded verge marker as show in claim 1 where the moulding can be of any shape or size.
- 3. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where reflectors are provided
- 4. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where the weight tray may be a container.
- 5. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where there are integral handles provided.
- 6. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where illumination can be added.
- 7. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where audible warning noise can be added.6. A moulded verge marker as shown in any preceding claim where linking chains can be attached.
