Mixing fluids in flow.- In apparatus for intermittently supplying liquid stored in a container to a receiver, operated by variations in the liquid level in the receiver through a liquid seal associated with the container and receiver, and in the automatic cleansing and disinfecting of urinals &c., or for other purposes, a permanent liquid seal is employed between the receiver and container. The receiver may be intermittently supplied bv a tip bucket feed, or as shown, by being connected with a flush pipe. The container B is fitted with a supply nozzle F and with a tube G the lower end of which is bent to form a permanent seal H. The receiver A communicates with the flush pipe C by means of a cranked pipe D having a scoop E whereby a portion of the flush water is deflected into the receiver, raising the level of the liquid therein, and, by increasing the air pressure in the container, ejecting a portion of the liquid therein through the nozzle F into the receiver. At the end of the flush, the contents of the receiver are discharged through the pipe D which is fitted with an additional exit e. The pipe D may be turned in its socket to incline the mouth E. and may be fitted with adjustable sleeved orifices l, i, or the orifice l may be gradually closed by a floating. sleeve. The inner end of the pipe may also be fitted with a ball valve whereby the orifice is partiallv closed when the water enters but is opened for discharge. In other forms the tube forms an inverted U and froms a seal in the container B, or extends above the container and connects with a bell forming the seal in the receiver.
