Abstract

The roof vent comprises a lead sheet 4 with a circular hole or aperture in its centre and a pipe 5 extending below the sheet and through the hole. The hole is covered by a protruding portion 1 that extends raised above the sheet and includes a galvanised steel mesh 3 or grille to prevent vermin or birds entering through the vent. The mesh is secured to the protruding portion by another piece of lead 2. The vent may be used on shingle roofs or on clay tiles. The pipe may be flexible or be made from lead. The vent may be used with an extraction fan to enhance flow.

Description

Page 1 Roof Vent -Descdptlon Number 4 is a lead sheet with a circular hole to the centre of It.
Number 5 Is a lead pipe which is fabricated then put through the hole of number 4 wIth an up stand then fabricated round the hole.
Number 1 is a lead cover to go over the hole which is raised slightly with an opening to let air in then fabricated to number 4.
Number 3 is a galvanised steel to stop birds, insect and vermin's such as squirrels getting into the loft space.
Number 2 Is a peace of lead cut to same shape of number 1 then fabricated to number ito secure number 3.
The finished product is fabricated as one to create the seal required.
