Abstract

A mobile bag for heating the bamboo sticks 2 used in massage therapies. The portable device consists of a heating element 1 attached to an aluminium board, with a dual power facility; either an indoor mains AC power plug or a car cigarette lighter plug 6 can power the bag. The heating element is controlled by a controller 4. The bag contains an inner PVC bag 7 which is used for containing and reheating oiled massage sticks. A heat resistant isolation foam lid 3 insulates the heat in the bag as well restricting movement of the heating bamboo massage sticks 2. The bag has a handle and shoulder strap to carry the case.

Description

Bamboo Massage Stick Warmer This invention relates to a bamboo massage stick warmer that is used during warm bamboo massage therapies.

Warm Bamboo massage therapy is performed by a qualified therapist using heated bamboo sticks. Currently when warm bamboo stick therapists perform therapies, there is no dedicated equipment with which to heat the bamboo sticks. The therapist will have to use commercially sold electric blankets which are not designed specifically for the job at hand.

To overcome this, the present invention proposes a bamboo stick heating bag that is in the form of a bag, therefore, small and easy to transport and which also heats the bamboo sticks quicker. The bamboo stick warmer that is being proposed directly heats the sticks from a heating element that has a dual-power solution of either an indoor mains AC power plug or a car cigarette lighter plug, allowing the sticks to be heated indoors or in transit. The bamboo massage sticks may be contained in a PVC bag which also allows the bamboo sticks to be reheated during the treatment without contaminating the main bag with massage oil.

The bamboo stick warming bag will decrease the heating time required for the massage sticks, thus decreasing the waiting time during each treatment.

The bamboo stick warming bag will provide a storage and transportation solution for the massage therapist.

The bamboo stick warming bag may contain a smaller PVC bag to collect and reheat the oiled sticks during and after the treatment.

The bamboo stick warming bag may be made from a lightweight material such as fabric or moulded plastic to allow it to be light enough to carry.

An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows a section through the bamboo stick warming bag.

In Figure 1, a vertical section through the bamboo stick warming bag shows the heating element 1, which is attached to an aluminium board and connected by a cable to the temperature controller 4. When the unit is connected to a power supply, heat is conducted through the aluminium board to the bamboo sticks 2. The heating element 1 is controlled by a temperature controller 4 which constrains the heating element to a specified temperature as set by the temperature controller 4. Heat resistant isolation foam 3 is built into the lid of the bag, insulating the heat within the bag.

Figure 2 shows the exterior view of the bamboo stick warming bag. Pockets 5 are used for storing the AC power plug, temperature controller 4 and cables as well as the car cigarette lighter plug 8. A detachable shoulder strap 8 allows for ease of transport by the user.

Figure 3 shows an open view of the bamboo stick warming bag. The heating element 1 and attached aluminium board is built into the base of the bag, allowing heat to rise into the main bag compartment. The heat resistant isolation foam lid 3 also acts to prevent excessive movement of the heating bamboo massage sticks.

Figure 4 shows the removable action of the PVC bag 7.

Figure 5 shows the opening action of the PVC bag 7 exposing the heating bamboo massage sticks 2.

Claims

Claims 1. A warmer for heating massage sticks, the warmer being in the form of a bag and comprising: a plastic frame and an isolation foam lid; a heating element attached to an aluminium board, adapted to apply heat through said aluminium board in order to heat said massage sticks; an adjustable electronic temperature controller, connected to said heating element, allowing for connection to a mains power cable; and a car cigarette lighter adaptor, also connected to said heating element.
2. A warmer for heating massage sticks according to claim 1, wherein said heater includes a temperature controller being electrically coupled to said heating element, said temperature controller limiting the heat provided by said heating element to the selected temperature.
3. A warmer for heating massage sticks according to claim 1, comprising of an inner oil proof bag to contain and reheat oiled massage sticks.
4. A warmer for heating massage sticks according to claim 1, further comprising of a handle and shoulder strap for carrying said warmer.
