Abstract

A spectacles assembly in which the frame 1 and arms 2 are pivotally connected to a catch piece 5 and a connecting base 3 at both sides of the frame body. The catch piece and base are clipped together, with the front end of each arm being connected to pivot holes (6, fig 8) on the two sides of the flap using pivot rods 17. An R-shaped leaf spring 4 is inserted between the connecting base and the arm, such that the outside of the arm contacts the leaf spring when the arm is unfolded but is adjacent to the leaf spring when the arm is folded. The catch piece, which has a C-shaped cross-section, consists of a rectangular surface (26, fig 8) and a flap connected at the opposing sides of the rectangular surface. The R-shaped leaf spring comprises two laminar springs 11, 12 which are connected by a U-shaped bend (13, fig 7).

s Spectacles Assembly including a Leaf Spring
FIELD OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
This invention relates to a kind of spectacles or spectacle frame, in particular, io spectacles assembled using a leaf spring without welding or screw&
BACKGROUND ART
At present, typical spectacles generally have a frame body and a pair of arms is connected thereto by screws. Such simple construction facilitates production, but upon prolonged use it is found that due to repeated folding and unfolding of the arms, the threads in the screws connecting the arms and the spectacle frame may come off resulting in the spectacles requiring repair. In cases where it is beyond repair, the spectacles can no longer be used and is to be replaced. This shortens the life of the spectacles and inevitably costs more to the customers.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide a kind of spectacles assembled with a biasing means, preferably a leaf spring. The technical problem to be solved is to extend the life of the spectacles.
In order to solve the above problem, the technical solution adopted in the present invention is: a spectacles assembled with biasing means, preferably a leaf spring, so comprising a frame body, and an arm pivotally connected to the body, flaps and a connecting base located at each of the two sides of the frame body, a catch piece is provided to clip on each said flap connecting base, the front end of each arm is provided with pivot rods, for pivotal connection to corresponding pivot holes provided on the two sides of the catch piece, an R-shaped leaf spring being provided between the flap as connecting base and the arm within the catch piece, the outer side of the front end of the s arm being in contact with the R-shaped leaf spring when the arm is unfolded; and wherein the front end of the arm abuts the R-shaped leaf spring when folded.
The catch piece according to the present invention comprises a rectangular surface and first flaps, each flap respectively connecting the upper and lower sides of the io rectangular surface, wherein the cross-section of the catch piece is C-shaped, wherein the rectangular surface is perpendicular to the first flaps, the outer edge of the first flap is oblique, wherein a portion along the outer edge of each first flap is folded 1800 inwardly to provide a second flap, the second flap is arranged to lean towards the first flap, a first extension surface is provided at the rear end of the rectangular surface, a third flap is provided at the rear end of the first extension surface extending and bending at 900 in the same direction as the first flaps, pivot holes are provided on the second flaps, the inner end surface of the catch piece is in contact with and paralle to the outer end surface of the flap connecting base of the frame body, wherein the third flap abuts the rear end surface of the flap connecting base, and wherein the first flap on the two sides are respectively arranged at the upper and lower ends of the flap connecting base.
The R-shaped leaf spring may comprise a first leaf spring pin, a second leaf spring pin and a U-shaped bend connecting the rear end of the first leaf spring pin and the rear end of the second leaf spring pin, wherein second extension surfaces extending longitudinally from the upper and lower sides of the second leaf spring pin are provided, wherein a tab bending outwardly is provided on the outer end surface of the second leaf spring pin, wherein the front end of the second leaf spring pin of the R-shaped leaf spring abuts the third flap, and wherein the front end of the first leaf spring pin presses against the outer side of the front end of the arm limiting movement of the arm, so that the arm may rotate about pivot rods within the pivot holes acting as pivots.
s A first aperture may be provided on the flap connecting base to correspond with the tab, the tab being fitted within the first aperture.
A ball joint may be provided on each nose pad mount of the spectacles frame body, wherein a nose pad portion of the spectacles frame body is fitted over the ball joint, so that said nose pad portion can rotate 36Q0 about the ball joint.
A first protrusion may be provided on the front end of each arm, a pivot rod being provided at both the upper and lower sides of the first protrusion.
At each outer side of the lens hole portions of the spectacles frame body there may be a first elongate slot opening along the lens hole portion of the spectacles frame body up to the middle part of the corresponding flap connecting base.
The rear end of the first elongated slot may be connected to the second elongated slot orthogonally, the second elongate slot being provided on the corresponding flap connecting base.
A fourth flap bending inwardly may be provided at the front end of the arm, a fifth flap bending outwardly and parallel to the arm is provided at the front end of the fourth flap, a first protrusion being provided at the front end of the fifth flap.
A gap may be provided at the lower side of the rear end of each flap connecting base.
so Compared with the prior art, this invention may adopt a catch piece with a C-shaped cross section arranged on the flap connecting base at both sides of the spectacle frame body so that the arm is pivotally connected to the pivot holes inside the catch piece through the pivot rods, a leaf spring being arranged between the catch piece and the arm enabling the leaf spring to act on the arm during folding and unfolding, so that the pivotal connection between the arm and the catch piece is secured without welding, avoiding screw threads coming off in cases where screws are deployed, and the life of the spectacles can thereby be extended.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
As shown in Figure 1, a spectacles frame body (1) is manufactured by a wire-culling process. A flap connecting base (3) is provided on both sides of the spectacles frame body (1). A first elongate slot (21) is opened along each lens hole portion (27) of the spectacles frame body (1) up to the middle part of the corresponding flap connecting base (3) on flap (5). The first elongate slot (21) is provided in the middle of the flap connecting base (3) on flap 5). A second elongated slot (25) that opens upwardly is provided at the tip of the rear end of the first elongate slot (21) perpendicular to the first elongate slot (21) On the end of the rear portion of the first elongate slot (21) teeth (28) are provided for engaging, when catch piece (5) is clipped on the flap connecting base and the first elongated slot is clamped tightly. The lens is are secured within lens hole portion (27). Teeth (28) function to limit displacement. A first aperture (16) is provided near the rear end of the flap connecting base (3). The first aperture (16) is square shaped.
Gap (24) is provided at the lower side of the rear end of the flap connecting base (3).
Nose pad mount (18) is provided adjacent the lens hole portion or between two lens hole portions of the frame body (1).
As shown in Figures 2 and 4, each flap connecting base (3) extends rearwardly or bends backward at the outer side of the spectacles or connecting part between the flap connecting base (3), frame body forming an angle with the spectacles frame body (1) of approximately 9Q0 Ball joint (19) is mounted on the nose pad mount (18). Nose pad portion (29) of the spectacles frame body (1) is fitted over the bail joint (19) enabling the nose pad portion (29) to rotate 3600 about the ball joint (19).
As shown in Figure 3, a protuberance (30) is provided on the surface of the rear end of the nose pad portion (29), a spherical recess (31) that envelops ball joint (19) is provided at the centre of the protuberance (30). A connecting groove (32) communicating the spherical recess (31) is provided on the protuberance (30), when the nose pad portion (29) is mounted on the nose pad mount (18). The ball joint (9) is fitted in the spherical is recess (31). The nose pad mount (18) connecting the ball joint (19) is arranged within the connecting groove 32 on one side.
As shown in Figure 5, said R-shaped leaf spring (4) is a strip-shaped structure when unfolded. A second extension surface (14) extending longitudinally along the R-shaped leaf spring (4) is provided on each of the upper and lower ends on the right side of the R-shaped leaf spring (4) making the R-shaped leaf spring (4) T-shaped. A tab (15) protruding outwardly is provided on the right side of the R-shaped leaf spring (4) adjacent the edge of the right side. The tab (15) is dimensioned to match the first aperture (16).
As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the unfolded leaf spring (4) is bent along the midline to form a flexible R-shaped leaf spring (4) with an R-shaped cross section. The R-shaped leaf spring (4) has a first leaf spring pin (11) and a second leaf spring pin (12). The rear end of the first leaf spring pin (11) is connected to the rear end of the second leaf spring pin (12) at a U-shaped bend (13). The second extension surfaces (14) are located on the second leaf spring pin (12). The second leaf spring pin (12) may be the same end having the second extension surfaces (14).
s From the schematic view of the unfolded state of said catch piece (5) as shown in Figures 8, 9 and 10, catch piece (5) is composed of a rectangular surface (26) and a first flap (7) provided at the upper and lower sides of the rectangular surface (26). The edge of the outer side of each first flap (7) is oblique. The rear side of each first flap (7) also has an oblique edge. A second flap (8) is provided at the outer side of each first flap (7) and is oblique. Each second flap (8) is provided with a pivot hole (6) near the rear side and a positioning hole (33) near the front side. After bending the first flap (7) at the two sides 90 degrees rearwardly upwardly, the catch piece (5) becomes C-shaped. The catch piece (5) is a polygon with an oblique edge at the upper end as viewed from Figure 10.
The second flap (8) is bent 180 degrees inwardly. The surface of the inner side of the second flap (8) is superimposed on the surface of the inner side of the first flap (7). A first extension surface (9) is provided at the rear end of the rectangular surface (26). A third flap (10) bending in the same direction as the first flaps (7) is provided at the rear end of the first extension surface (9). The third flap (10) is perpendicular to the rectangular surface.
As shown in Figures 11 and 12, the front end of said arm (2) is provided a first protrusion (20). The centre of the front end surface of the first protrusion (20) is provided with a concave curvature. A pivot rod (17) is provided at the upper and lower ends of the first protrusion (20). A fourth flap (22) bending almost 90 degrees inwardly is provided at the front end portion of the arm (2). A fifth flap (23) parallel to the arm (2) is provided at the front end of the fourth flap (22). A first protrusion (20) is provided on the fifth flap (23).
As shown in Figures 13 and 14, by clipping catch piece (5) onto the outer side of the flap connecting base (3), first flaps (7) will clamp the upper and lower sides of the flap connecting base (3) tightly. After clamping tight the flap connecting base (3), the third flap (10) abuts against the rear end surface of the flap connecting base (3) while the lens of the spectacles can be secured within the lens hole portion (27) of the frame body (1). The R-shaped leaf spring (3) opening up to the rear end is fitted through the tabs (15) of the second leaf spring pin (12) into the first aperture (16). The front end of the second leaf spring pin (12) abuts the inner side of the third flap (10). The first leaf spring pin (11) is on the same level as the outer side of the first flaps (7). The U-shaped bend (13) forms a contact with the inner side of the flap connecting base (3). The arm (2) is slotted into the io pivot holes (6) through the use of pivot rods (17). The surface of the outer side of the first leaf spring pin (11) presses the arm (2) into the pivot holes (6) thus enabling the arm (2) to rotate about the pivot rods in the pivot holes. When the arm (2) is unfolded, the first protrusion (20) is parallel and forms a contact with the first leaf spring pin (11) of the R-shaped leaf spring (4). When folded, the first protrusion (20) at the front end of the arm (2) presses against the R-shaped leaf spring (4), so that the first protrusion (20) abuts the first leaf spring pin (1.1) of the R-shaped leaf spring (4). The arm (2) and the flap connecting base (3) are arranged in that the angle therebetween is close to 90 degrees.
The nose pad portion (29) is mounted on the ball joint (19) on the nose pad mount (18).
The nose pad portion (29) rotates 360 degrees about the ball joint (19).
When mounting the lens, a round needle with thickness greater than the flap connecting base (3) is inserted into the gap (24), making the second leaf spring pin (12) of the R-shaped leaf spring (4) to spring up. At this time, the tab (15) is located above the first aperture (16) so that the frame body can be released smoothly so that the lens can be replaced.
The spectacles frame assembled with leaf spring of the present invention may be entirely produced by laser co-linear cutting process using sheet material. Thus no welding is needed. This reduces production costs. Lens installation is made very simple ao since the spectacles frame has no screws. There is no risk of loosening of screws, and thus the life of the spectacles can be extended. As the nose pad portions and the ball joints on the nose pad mounts are both concentric in structure, the nose pad portions can rotate 35Q° so that they are in close contact with the user's nose whether the user is moving or still, providing a safe and comfortable wearing experience. Since this design contains leaf springs, the springy effects during the inward folding and outward unfolding of the spectacle frame will bring comfort to the user.

Claims (10)

  1. Claims 1. A spectacles assembly with a leaf spring, comprising a spectacles frame body (1) and arms (2) pivotally connected to flaps and a flap connecting base (3) at both sides of the spectacles frame body (1), wherein a catch piece (5) is provided on said flap io connecting base (3), which is respectively clipped on each flap connecting base (3), the front end of the arm (2) is pivotally connected to pivot holes (6) on the two sides of the catch piece (5) through pivot rods (17), and within the catch piece (5), an R-shaped leaf spring (4) is provided between the flap connecting base (3) and the arm (2), wherein the outer side of the front end of the arm (2) is in contact with the R-shaped leaf spring (4) is when the arm (2) is unfolded; and wherein the front end of the arm (2) abuts the R-shaped leaf spring (4) when folded.

A spectacles assembly according to Claim 1, wherein said catch piece (5) comprises a rectangular surface (26) and a first flap (7) connected at the upper and lower sides of the rectangular surface (26), the cross-section of the catch piece (5) is C-shaped, the rectangular surface (26) and the first flaps (7) are arranged orthogonally, the outer edge of each first flap (7) is oblique, a second flap (8) bending 180° inwardly is provided on the outer edge of the first flaps (7), each second flap (8) is obliquely arranged on the corresponding first flap (7), a first extension surface (9) is provided at the rear end of the rectangular surface (26), a third flap (10) bending 90° in the same direction as the first flaps (7) is provided on the rear end of the first extension surface (9), said pivot hole (6) is arranged on each second flap (8), the inner end surface of the catch piece (5) being in contact and parallel to the outer end face of the flap connecting base (3), the third flap (10) abuts the rear end surface of the flap connecting base (3), and wherein the first flap (7) is arranged at both the upper and lower ends of the flap connecting base (3).
  3. 3. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 2, wherein said R-shaped leaf spring (4) comprises a first leaf spring pin (11), a second leaf spring pin (12) and a U-shaped bend (13) connecting the rear end of the first leaf spring pin (11) with the rear end of the second leaf spring pin (12), a second extension surface (14) extending longitudinally from the upper and lower sides of the second leaf spring pin (12), a tab (15) bending outwardly io is provided on the outer end surface of the second leaf spring pin (12), the front end of the second leaf spring pin (12) of the R-shaped leaf spring (4) abuts the third flap (10), the front end of the first leaf spring pin (11) presses against the outer side of the front end of the arm (2), so that the arm (2) rotates about the pivot rods (17) within the pivot holes (6) acting as pivots.
  4. 4. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 3, wherein a first aperture (16) provided on said flap connecting base (3) is located to correspond with the tab (15), and wherein the tab (15) is fitted within the first aperture (16).

A spectacles assembled according to Claim 4, wherein a ball joint (19) is provided on each nose pad mount (18) of said spectacles frame body (1), each nose pad portion of the spectacles frame body (1) is filled over the ball joint (19), so that said the nose pad portions can rotate 3600 about the ball joints (19).
  6. 6. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 5, wherein a first protrusion (29) is provided on the front end of each arm (2), the pivot rod (17) is arranged at the upper and lower sides of the first protrusion (20).
  7. 7. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 6, wherein on each side of the lens ao hole portion of said spectacle frame body (1) there is a first elongate slot (21) opening s along the lens hole portion of the spectacle frame body (1) up to the middle part of the flap connecting base (3).
  8. 8. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 7, wherein a second elongate slot (25) is connected orthogonally to the rear end of the first elongate slot (21) the second ia elongated slot (25) being provided on the flap connecting base (3).

A spectacles assembly according to Claim 8, wherein a fourth flap (22) bending inwardly is provided at the front end of said arm (2), a fifth flap (23) bending outwardly parallel to the arm (2) is provided at the front end of the fourth flap (22), and the first protrusion (20) is arranged at the front end of the fifth flap (23).

A spectacles assembly according to Claim 9, wherein a gap (24) is provided at the lower side of the rear end of said flap connecting base (3).amended claims have been filed as follows Claims 1. A spectacles assembly with a leaf spring, comprising a spectacles frame body (1) and arms (2) pivotally connected to a connecting base (3) at either side of the spectacles rn frame body (1), wherein a catch piece (5) is provided on each said connecting base (3), and which is respectively clipped on to each connecting base (3), the front end of each arm (2) being pivotally connected to a pivot hole (6) on a side of the catch piece (5) through a pivot rod (17), within the catch piece (5); wherein an R-shaped leaf spring (4) is provided between the connecting base (3) and the arm (2), wherein the outer side of the is front end of the arm (2) is in contact with the R-shaped leaf spring (4) when the arm (2) is unfolded; and wherein a front end of the arm (2) presses against the R-shaped leaf spring (4) when folded.2. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 1, wherein said catch piece (5) comprises a rectangular surface (26) and a first flap (7) connected at upper and lower sides of the rectangular surface (26), the cross-section of the catch piece (5) is C-shaped, the rectangular surface (26) and the first flaps (7) are arranged orthogonally, the outer edge of each first flap (7) is oblique, a second flap (8) bending 180° inwardly is provided on the outer edge of the first flaps (7), each second flap (8) is obflquely arranged on the corresponding first flap (7), a first extension surface (9) is provided at a rear end of the rectangular surface (26), a third flap (10) bending 900 in the same direction as the first flaps (7) is provided on the rear end of the first extension surface (9), said pivot hole (6) is arranged on each second flap (8), the inner end surface of the catch piece (5) being in contact and parallel to the outer end face of the connecting base (3), the third flap (10) so abuts a rear end surface of the connecting base (3), and wherein the first flap (7) is arranged at both upper and lower ends of the connecting base (3). * . _,* * * . * * S. *0 S-*53. A spectacles assembly according to Claim 8, wherein a fourth flap (22) bending inwardly is provided at a front end of said arm (2), a fifth flap (23) bending outwardly parallel to the arm (2) is provided at a front end of the fourth flap (22), and the first is protrusion (20)is arranged at a front end of the fifth flap (23).10.
