Abstract

A foot muff for a child carrier of the type worn on the back or the chest of an adult comprises front and rear panels forming a generally sack-like enclosure with openings to allow the child-restraining straps of the child carrier to pass inside the foot muff so as to secure a child therein and to hold the foot muff in place.

BABY CARRIER FOOTMUFF
This invention relates to a baby footmuff to attach to a baby carrier.
Baby carrying aids are useful, helpful and aids bonding between carer and baby, aiding the earner the freedom to carry the baby without cumbersome pushchairs or prams.
Baby carrying aids have developed over many years and are used in many cultures with great effect and benefit for the child and carer.
The problem with many carrying aids are babies legs are left dangling and exposed, leaving babies legs vunerable to the cold, sun or insect bites and most coats and cardigans can not wrap around the carrier.
The present invention proposes a solution for all these difficulties.
The present invention can provide warmth, provide protection from the suns harmful rays helping to prevent sunburn or skin cancers, helps to protect sensitive skin disorders, and prevent most insect bites in a simple stylised way.
The present invention is comfortable, easily attached, transported, cleaned and stored.
The baby carrier footmuff is simply configured with 2 sides sewn together with openings at each side with simple closure flaps at the top of the openings.
The babies legs are inserted into the opening at the top of the footmufl, using the flaps to attach under the waist straps of the baby carrier, then over the baby carriers back using fastening on the flaps.
The present invention can be made from different types of materials to accommodate different weathers and preventions, different fastenings can be used, ideally Velcro (R.T.M), poppers, buttons or the like.
Outer or inner pockets can be inserted to be used to hold a dummy, toy or the like. Poppers, clips or straps can be used to prevent items dropping beyond reach while in use. The present invention may conform to a stylist shape such as a flower or the like. The footmuff can also be made to take the form of the babies legs by simply making a divide in the footmuff as is done with trousers. The footniuff can also have detachable feet.
