Abstract
A simple straight edge bar 12 that supports tiles to the downwardly facing upper surface of a window reveal. The bar has adjustable grips 5 that will support the bar between the side walls of the window recess, to the side of the window frame, the tiles will then be supported by a number of paddles that have been inserted into a T groove in the straight edge bar.
Description
1
Invention Name: Tilling Support Tool.
Background of the Problem
This tilling tool offers an innovative new way of supporting the tiles to the tops of window casings. Traditionally when people are tiling bathrooms and kitchens, there is no way of supporting the tiles that are located to the top of the inside window sills. This presents a problem of tiles falling off and materials being wasted also this presents the problem of not being able to get the tiles straight, in the past some people have had to construct a make shift temporary support of some kind to enable the job to be completed.
Statement of Invention
The tiling tool overcomes the problem of not being able to support the tiles inside a window sill by providing a support for the tiles. This will be done by having two adjustable grips located on either end of a spirit level, or straight bar. the tool will grip to the inside of the window sill by utilising two adjustable grips on a support bar, also there will be a number of support paddles along the straightedge to give the tiles a support they require.
Advantages of the Invention
The tiling tool will eradicate the problem of not being able to support the tiles by gripping to the inside of the window, also with the use of a spirit level as the straight edge you are able to get a perfect straight line. With the support strips being placed along the spirit level to give the tiles all the support needed to stop them falling off. This will save tiles being wasted and there will no longer be the need to construct a temporary support for the tiles

Detailed Description
The Tool shown in drawing nol could be constructed possibly utilising a spirit level (2) or a straight edge bar constructed out of a suitable material, this will form the base of the tiling tool, the straight edge will have a small groove as shown in drawing no 3 figure no 9, this T groove will be cut out all along the front edge of the tiling tool,
this groove will enable you to insert the paddles (1) these paddles will give the tiles there support and stop them from falling down. The paddles could be made out of plastic with a T groove at the opposite end to enable you to slide the paddles in and out of the straight edge, the T groove end will also prevent the paddle from slipping out of the straight edge. Figures (4) & (6) shown in various drawing are required for the adjustable tensioner grips, the straight edge could have a hole on each opposite side to insert a bolt as shown in figure (6) drawing no 1 this will enable the bar for the adjustable tensioner grips to be connected to the straight edge. This bar could be a continuous from one side to the other. This support bar will house two adjustable tensioner grips(5), these grips could be made out of plastic they could incorporate a button on the leaver so the grips could be moved forwards and backwards freely, along with a leaver that will make the grips tighten up to the sides of the windows as shown in drawing no 7. The grips will hold the tool tight to the wall (7) the grip could be made out of a rubber material this will offer a good friction support and prevent scratching any tiles or paint work to the sides of the window bay, the tilling tool will support its own weight along with the weight of the tiles on the paddles as shown in drawing no 7. The paddles will then stop the tiles from falling off the top of the window sill, whilst also giving you a straight line to tile to. The tiling tool could be around lm in length, with the adjustable grips you could potentially grip the tiling tool to any window length from 300mm to lm, for windows greater than lm the tiling tool could offer an additional length to be added on to the tiling tool as shown in drawings no 4 and 5, to enable the tool to incorporate an additional length the tiling tool will have two holes on either end of the tiling tool (8) these holes will enable you to insert connecter, possibly a plastic tube that sits tight in the hole. The connecter could be around 160mm long this will go 80mm inside the tiling tool leaving another 80mm of tubing to connect the extending bar, this will enable you to support tiles to windows greater than lm in length.
