Abstract

A bracket mounting tile is a composite roofing tile with a flat mounting area measuring 100mm h x 165mm w. It is designed to give a plumb vertical face to mount any brackets or fittings to once the tile has been fitted. The composite material allows you to screw brackets or fixings directly onto the mounting area. It can be fitted like a standard roofing tile for tile hung elevations for buildings, is the same size as a standard clay or concrete tile (165 mm wide by 265 mm high and 10 mm deep widening to 20 mm) and will come in various colours to suit the application. The Bracket Tile has a nib on its rear elevation for locating onto the tile batten. It is then securely screwed onto the tile batten through the two fixing holes.

Description

1
DESCRIPTION-
BRACKET TILE
This invention has been designed to overcome fixing issues to tile hung elevations within the construction industry.
The current method of trying to fix brackets and fittings to clay and concrete tile hung elevations often results in damage to materials ( due to the brittle nature of the products), labour intense adaptations and/or insecure fixings.
The Bracket Tile is a unique composite roofing tile with a flat mounting area on the bottom of the tile. It's design is simple. It can be fitted like a standard roofing tile for tile hanging elevations on buildings. It is the same size as a standard clay or concrete tile (165mm wide by 265mm high and 10mm deep with its mounting area widening out to 20mm) (Figure 2) and will come in various colours to suit the tiles being used. It's unique mounting area then gives you a fixing platform to secure down pipe brackets, waste pipe brackets or other fittings such as lights or security sensors.
The Bracket Tile has a nib on its rear elevation just like a normal tile which is then located onto the tile batten. It is then securely screwed to the tile batten through the two fixing holes at the top of the tile. The Bracket Tile is now ready to receive any brackets or fittings onto the mounting area.
The mounting area is 100mm high by 165mm wide and has been designed to give a plumb vertical face to mount any brackets or fittings to once the tile has been fitted . The composite material allows you to pilot a hole into it prior to screwing the bracket or fixing directly onto the mounting area.
The design details mentioned above are illustrated in the attached drawings (Bracket Tile Figures 1,2&3) as follows;
1. jvxouiuuig area lOOnini high 165mm vvju£.
2. Nib, for locating onto the tile batten.
3. Fixing holes, for securing the Bracket Tile onto the tile batten.
This design can be adapted to work with most other types of roofing materials such as slates and larger clay and concrete tiles.
