Abstract

The invention is an apparatus that fills a bucket, watering can or similar receptacle with water much faster and more easily than can be achieved using the tap or other water source. A watertight container 1 has an inlet connected to a water source and automatically fills to a predetermined volume. The user places a receptacle (2, Fig.1) beneath an outlet point (3, Fig.2) and starts the flow of water using handle 15. The water flows rapidly and continuously into the receptacle until the required volume of liquid has been delivered at which point the outlet is sealed off by a blocking means and the container begins to refill. The container may be filled via a standard toilet cistern or a water-trough valve 8 and ball-cock assembly 13 connected by pipe 9 to a water source. Preferably the container is connected to a water source (tap 10, Fig.1) via T-connector (12, Fig.1).
