Abstract

A method for arranging cooling water pipes in large volume concrete includes the steps of: a. obtaining the conditions of temperature field distribution of the large volume concrete by using practical measurements or the numerical simulation technology for the temperature field, and plotting an isothermal line graph of the temperature field; and b. arranging the water cooling pipes along or close to the isothermal lines, with a water inlet arranged in a region where the concrete is at the highest temperature, and the spacing between the water pipes being or approximating the spacing between the isothermal lines. This method effectively reduces the temperature difference within the concrete, and prevents the generation and development of concrete cracks.
