Abstract

Multiple-furrow ploughs; disc-tool implements; travelling gear; tools; adjusting and lifting parts; track-clearers; wetting tools.-An implement for ploughing or forming furrows or trenches is provided with one or more long sleds adapted normally to support the greater part of the frame of the implement, and each having its underside sloping upwards towards the front and its ends connected to the frame in such a way that the forward travelling movement tends to cause the front end to dip downwards so as to bring a greater part of the underside into contact with the ground. The rear end of the sled 4 is pivoted on spindles 6 carried by crank arms 7 on a crossshaft 8 which is provided with a lever 10 adapted to be operated as described in Specification 249,638 for raising and lowering the implement 1. A catch lever 12 engages with a notched segment 11 to hold the frame in position. Travelling wheels may be removably mounted on the spindles 6. The front end of the sled 4 is connected to the frame 1 by a connection which allows it to dip when the implement moves forward, and raises it when the frame 1 is lifted. The upper part of a recessed plate 42 on the sled 14 passes between depending plates or bars 37 on the frame 1 and is free to move between adjustable pins 40, 41 placed in holes in the plates 37. The sled supports the whole weight of the implement while the steering wheel 2 is passing over a trench. The front part having the sloping underside 4a is V- shaped in plan so as to push aside heaps of soil &c. Tanks 44 may be provided to hold water for wetting the ground in front of the sled and for wetting the plough shares &c.
