Abstract

The brace bar comprises two sections 2, 3 one of which slides inside the other to adjust the overall length of the brace bar. The ends of the sections are plates which contact a door frame. The plates may include screw holes 5 for allowing screws or nails to pass through and secure the brace to the door frame. The length of the brace bar can be fixed by using locking nut 4.

Description of Invention
Adjustable Brace
An adjustable brace to keep the fitting of door linings and frames straight and true.
This device is a quick and easy to use product that will allow you to FIgure 1. This is the metal sleeved bar of two sections with square plates to either end for temporary fixings of either screws or nails, one bar sleeves inside the other for adjustment with a locking nut to secure inner sleeve bar.
Within figure 1, point 1-square metal plates on each end of the brace with holes in to secure the device to linings/frames temporarily whilst door lining is being fixed. Section 2, Hollow square section with locking nut and handle to hold inner section 3. Section 3, a square hollow section which slides inside section 2 to be positioned into correct size of internal door size of door lining/frame.
Section 4, locking nut to secure section 2 and 3so no movement occurs, Section 5, holes to enable you to put temporary screws to door lining/frame.
Figure 2. Shows a door lining/frame with the device fitted to bottom of lining/frame. Section 1 is lining/frame, section 2 is brace.
Advantages of Invention Door linings and frames are normally braced with timber which is not always accurate, this invention would save on the use of timber by having one product that can be adjusted to different sizes would save using many pieces of timber on various door frames.
Other advantages of this bar is that It Is fitted inside the frame not allowing it to Increase or decrease whilst fixing frame and keeping it square in size and not allowing twisting of main door frame whilst conventional methods of bracing frames with timber are normally fitted to the front of the frame allowing for discrepancies in keeping the linings square and true.

Adjustable brace is easily secured to lining /frame by temporary screws on each end.</claim-text> <claim-text>3. Adjustable brace will replace the need for timber bracing.</claim-text> <claim-text>4. Adjustable brace can be used to different sized lining / frame.</claim-text>
