Abstract

249,200. MacLaurin, J. D. Dec. 17, 1924. Packing paper and other goods; bales.-Bales of paper, cloth. linoleum or other merchandise, are packed by being wrapped round in a wrapper b, Fig. 1, to which a short strip e of adhesive tape is applied preparatory to a long strip e of adhesive tape being applied along the joint d. The edges f are then folded down and secured by a strip g, Fig. 3, of adhesive tape. A broad strip h of adhesive tape is next placed round each end of the package, secured at the corners j, and folded down as shown in Fig. 4. Additional packing, which may be of rigid materials, may be incorporated between the wrapper and the package, and broad paper bands &c., Fig. 3, may be passed round the package before wrapping. or after wrapping as indicated at o, Fig. 4. Angled strips of cardboard may be disposed along the edges of the package. The adhesive bands may be applied to the ends of the packages and the ends turned down so as to extend along all the sides of the package.
