Windows and the like, cleaning.-The wiper arm of a wind-screen cleaner is detachably connected to its actuating member and is held thereon by spring means adapted to press the arm resiliently against the surface being cleaned. As shown in Figs. 2 and 4, a wiping strip H is connected to a rock shaft F through the medium of an arm G and a coil spring, the latter being provided with a portion 12 engaging the rock shaft, a portion 13 engaging one end of the arm G extending through a hole in the shaft F, and a hook end 14 slidably engaging the arm G. The shaft F is oscillated by means of a suction motor E. The wind-screen B is hinged to the frame A at D. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the arm G' is formed with a bent end 11<1> for engagement with a hole 10' in the shaft F<1> and is surrounded by a spring 17 an end 19 of which is adapted to engage a hole 16 in the shaft.
