Abstract

A camera in the form of a rifle takes a photograph on pulling trigger 5. The device measures the distance to the subject, preferably with a laser beam, and imprints the range information on the taken image. The device may include a digital display screen 7. The camera rifle may be used in a hunting experience or paintballing. The device may also be in the form of binoculars.

Description

Trophy Photo Device Range recording Photograpiy Backtzround The problem for many people who enjoy wildlife and the countryside and would enjoy the experience of part icipating in a hunt', is the desire not to kill or harm the wild life.
The purpose of the device is; To enhance the sports of Game Stalking, Paintball and other similar activities, by providing a record of the skill of the participant in Stalking.
To create live real time hunting experiences and to prove stalking prowess without having to kill the target animal. The stalker can take as many shots as is wished and the best is then selected to be retained and reproduced as a trophy.
To create a field of competition in stalking where one participant's skill can be measured against other participants.
Statement of Invention
This is a hand held device to produce a photograph with the distance to the subject imprinted on the picture, thus displaying the range of the target at the moment the image is captured.
Please refer to Sketch A, Sketch B, Sketch C, Sketch D and Number Reference List.
The range is measured with continuous response technology for example, a laser beam (2).
The range to the subject is measured, recorded and stored digitally precisely at the time and date the image is photographically captured.
The time and date is recorded from an electronic digital clock similar to that used in mobile phones.
The image is captured using digital camera technology for example, a pinhole camera (1).
The captured image is displayed on a digital screen (7) similar to that used in digital camcras and mobile phones The system is powered by batteries (3) contained in a compartment within the body of the device.
The photograph is reproduced, with the time, date and distance data as recorded, imprinted or superimposed on the picture, producing a trophy'.
This trophy then, is evidence or proof of the stalking skill of the participant.
Operation Qfffiç device At the start of the activity or hunt, the range finding unit (2) is switched on using the on/off switch (6). This then continuously monitors the range to any targets selected.
The desired target is identified, using the sight (4) when fitted, the trigger mechanism (5) is pressed or pulled and an image or shot' is recorded by the camera (1) at that time and distance from the target as measured by the rangefinder (2).
The participant proceeds with the activity taking as many shots' as is desired until the activity is ended.
The images can be viewed on the screen (7) at any time.
The images are downloaded, reviewed and a selection made to be produced as trophy' photographs.
