Abstract

A bridle comprises a noseband strap and a headpiece comprising a padded lining. The noseband is passed behind the padded headpiece lining into two slots in the headpiece so the surface of noseband strap is level with the surface of the headpiece. Since the noseband does not sit under the headpiece, poll pressure is relieved. Additionally the bridle has no extra bulk or unsecured straps and provides a visually neater finish.

Description

DESCRIPTION
SOFT RIDE
The need was felt to develop a more comfortable, practical and visually neater bridle that reduces the pressure to the sensitive poll area behind the ears of a horse.
Traditional unpadded designs mean noseband strap is underneath the headpiece causing additional pressure and the bridle can also be pulled forward onto the horse's ears causing discomfort.
The comfort padded design does elevate this particular problem but does so by passing the noseband strap through holes and over the top of the padded headpiece, therefore leaving the noseband strap unsecured, causing movement of this strap and increasing bulk at the top of the bridle looking visually untidy.
The Soft Ride Bridle differs from all other bridles due to the fact that the noseband strap is passed behind the padded headpiece lining fitting into two specially designed slots in the headpiece itself. This therefore means that the noseband strap is not raised above the headpiece adding no extra bulk and unsecured straps whilst still providing poll pressure relief and an overall visually neater finish.
The attached diagram shows the entry point of the noseband strap below the padded headpiece lining and also illustrates the slots into which the noseband strap sits into, meaning that the noseband strap at no point is raised above the headpiece making it visually tidier, more comfortable for the horse and unique within the equestrian market.
On the bridle the noseband strap fits under the headpiece lining and into the slot in the headpiece positioning the strap surface level with the surface of the headpiece. The unique design relates to bridles and headstalls for use in equestrian sports made of leather or any synthetic materials.
