Packing, non-metallic; inserting; compressing. -A gas meter is provided with a stuffing- box 4 of the type supplied with grease by a tube 5. The latter leads to the exterior of the meter, grease being forced in by means of a grease gun 7. The orifice is ordinarily closed by a screw 6. Alternatively, a grease cup may be employed.
