Abstract
248,655. Collier, R., and Textophote Co., Ltd. Sept. 24, 1925. Reel and non-endless 'web apparatus.-In devices comprising an intermittently rotated magazine of advertising sheets mounted on spring rollers, the sheets being unwound in turn for display, the roller spindles 34 are removably held in notches 8 in the end flanges 7 of the magazine, and the laths 38 at the outer ends of the sheets 37 are retained in slots 10 on the inner rim of annuli 9, each sheet passing round a rod 36 stretching between brackets 35 journaled on each spindle 34. A member 22, reciprocated vertically by a pin and slot connection with an endless moving chain 16, is provided at each end with a recess 24 which engages a spindle 34 and draws down a roller 33 to unwind the sheet. A detent 32 on a fixed bracket 31 receives the spindle 34, and the released spindle of the previously held roller is forced out by a pawl 26 on to an incline 41 on the member 22 and dragged up between clips 28 which deliver it to the bottom notches 8. A pawl 27 on the rising member 22 then engages the spindle 34 and forces the magazine one step backwards, thus bringing the next vacated notches 8 to the bottom in readiness to receive the following spindle. The rollers 33 are hidden by arcuate advertisement bearing shields 39 secured to extensions 40 of the brackets 35. Specification 486/10 is referred to.
