Abstract

A storage rail 4 for the storage of multimedia comprises of a number of 'T' shaped extrusions 1 along the length of rail 4 to support boxes 6 of the multimedia at any desired location within the storage system when the rail 4 is secured to a vertical surface such as a wall. The 'T' shaped extrusions 1 fit within the mouth or recess 5 of the multimedia box 6 allowing the multimedia box to hang securely. An adhesive strip 3 on the rear of the hanging rail and a number of fixing holes 2 along the length of rail allow the storage system to be securely wall mounted. The rail 4 may be used to store a collection of data media in such as DVD, CD-ROM and other multimedia discs enclosed inside standard multimedia storage boxes.

Background of invention
The idea for the invention came when refurbishing my flat, with concentrating on reducing the number of units a priority and the aim to create a minimalistic style with a new wall mounted TV centre piece Wires were concealed, a minimal sized unit for various electronic items below TV and surround sound hidden provided the look desired Problem! Storage of DVD, CD-ROM, Wii, XBOX 360. P53, BLU-RAY and other multimedia boxed discs without using additional fumiture but still in visual sight with ease of access and that would continue rooms minimalistic theme Problem Solving Desired outcome was for the storage unit to be hidden with only the multimedia boxes visible, as well as secure and easily accessible It was concluded that standard DVD, CD-ROM, Wii, XBOX 360, P53, BLU-RAY and other multimedia boxes can be held securely by hanging the box via the opening mouth (recess) if held in a vertical position and using a securely fitted hook.
It was concluded that a rack of any length with any number of hooks could securely and discreetly hold multimedia boxes if it is positioned horizontally and multimedia boxes vertically.
It was concluded that a simple V shaped hook with its length the same as the intemal dimension of the multimedia box mouth (recess) would provide a significant hold on the box allowing to hang safely.
It was concluded that minimal material is required to hang the multimedia boxes securely It was concluded that in order to efficiently install the rail an adhesive strip of foam or tape would be fitted to allow user a simple Iwo step installation, position and stick It was concluded to provide additional support for hanging rail if required clearance holes would be placed along unit to allow user to screw unit against its surface The desired outcome was to enable the hanging rack to hold the multimedia boxes as long as it is in a horizontal position, even if upside down.
The wall mounted multimedia box hanging rail is small and discreet. When full cannot be seen and gives the impression of floating multimedia boxes The rail can be installed in seconds and multiple rails put together allow no limit to number of multimedia boxes stored K!y Features: The invention stores DVD, BLU-RAY, P53, Wii, XBOX 360. CD-ROM and other multimedia discs enclosed inside standard boxes on a wall mounted hanging rail The invention is a length of plastic material with a number of T' shaped extrusions, an adhesive strip of tape on its rear and several clearance holes along length of product. Figure 1 The invention stores the multimedia boxes using specifically designed T' shaped extrusions along a length of material that creates a tight and secure fit within the recess mouth of the multimedia box allowing the multimedia box to hang securely when the plastic length is in a horizontal position.
Figure 2 shows the V shaped extrusions along a length of plastic material with a number of clearance holes. The T' shaped extrusion sits securely within the mouth (recess) of the multimedia box, Figure 3. The multimedia box is then lowered to its lowest position so that the 1' shaped extrusion sitting within the recess mouth is in contact with the upper intemal wall of the recess. The box hangs securely.
Figure 4 shows the hanging rail in application secured against a wall. The multimedia boxes are placed in a box location on the rail alongside each other.
