Abstract

The ratchet bar unit (1, Figure 4) is used as an extension to a standard knuckle bar or drive handle to enable access to hard-to-reach areas. A head of the unit may be turned via a base by an internal drive that may include a chain, gears and a belt. The unit may also be used as a regular spanner. Additional sockets (2, Figure 4) can be used to extend the unit for extra reach in deeper access areas. The sockets may have magnetic inserts to hold a nut/bolt in place to prevent loss.

Description

Ratchet Bar This invention relates to a type of ratchet.
When replacing parts to an engine, boiler or such like, some nuts and bolts can be hard to reach. The space maybe too small to allow sufficient movement to undo or tighten.
To overcome this, the invention I am submitting proposes to fit onto nuts and bolts and be turned via conventional ratchet or bar from the top of the invention.
No movement from the invention is required. However it could also be used as a conventional ratchet.
Ratchet Bar unit is driven internally via chain and gears.
An example of the Invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Drawing Figure (2) shows invention as a conventional ratchet.
Drawing Figure (1) shows invention as an extension to remove hard to reach nuts and bolts.
Drawing Figures 5,6,7 shows internal workings of ratchet bar.
