Abstract

A cap for protecting boilie type fishing bait is round or domed in shape and fits over the top of a spherical boiled bait. The cap comprises a small central hole to allow mounting on the end of the fishing line, near the hook or via a hair rig. The boilie cap enables the user to change the colour of any boilie used. The caps may be employed alone or in groups to give a multi coloured appearance. The cap is produced in plastic and is non edible, which therefore protects the boilie from being eroded by other fish or aquatic creatures.

Description

Boilie cap.
Description.
The Boilie cap is a coloured, domed cap, with a central hole in the top, which is simple placed over the top of a Boilie.
manufactured in a lightweight, thin plastic, in a large range of different colours, as well as a clear, see through version.
The purpose of the cap is to allow the angler to change the colour of the Boilie, whether that be, the top, the bottom or both at the same time, without having to change the actual boilie, itself.
This gives the angler a large scope of bait colouring options, without changing the Boilies flavour, and saves the angler having to carry around lots of different coloured Boilies.
The Boilie cap is available in a wide range of sizes to match all available Boilies that are produced, and has a central hole to allow for easy mounting on a hair rig, or should the angler wish, multiple, back to back use.
The Boilie cap also adds protection to the angler's bait, from small and unwanted nuisance fish or other aquatic species, such as Crayfish, Crabs by forming a harder shell around the bait.
The caps can also be used to protect soft, paste type baits by encapsulating them, yet still retaining the paste's highly attractive soluble properties.
The Boilie caps can also be easily used in conjunction with polystyrene, foam, cork etc, to make a highly buoyant pop up Boilie, that retains a spherical boilie like appearance.

Claims (6)

  1. Boilie cap.Claims.The Boilie cap allows the user to change the colour of a Boilie without having to change the actual Boilie itself. The Boilie cap, changes the colour of the boilie, without altering the spherical nature of the existing Boilie.A single cap can be added to the existing Boilie to add colour to the top half of the Boilie.A single cap can be added to the existing Boilie to add colour to the bottom half of the Boilie.
  2. 2 or more caps can be added to the existing Boilie to add a variation of colour on the same Boilie. The Boilie cap adds protection to the boilie from small fish and unwanted aquatic species, such as Crayfish, Crabs. The Boilie cap can be used to add buoyancy as well as colour to an existing Boilie, without changing the spherical of the existing Boilie. The Boilie cap has a central hole to allow easy mounting or multiple Boilies, with or without caps to be used. The Boilie cap, can be used to protect soft paste baits, by giving them a hard shell.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows: 1. A Boilie cap comprises a half circular dome shaped, thin plastic cap of various diameters and colours. A small hole in the top to allows the cap to be placed on the line and held in place over the top of a spherical fish bait, (boilie) to allow the angler to change the colour of their existing boilie without having to change the original boilie. This allows the angler to use the same flavour or smell of boilie in a wide range of different colours.2. A Boilie cap is available with various diameters, so that the correct size Boilie cap can be matched to the wide size variety of boilie's that are already commercially available, whilst the Boilie caps diameter is variable, the features detailed in 1. are the same.
    :h
  3. 3. A single Boilie cap can be placed over the top of a boilie to change half the colour.
    :*.
  4. 4. 2 Boilie caps of the same colour or of different colours can be placed over the * top of a boilie, side by side, to change the whole colour of the boilie or to make the boilie multi coloured.
    :*
  5. 5 The Boilie cap adds protection to the anglers existing boilie by tightly encapsulating it in a coloured plastic case, either by 50 or 100% of its total surface area, depending if br 2 Boilie caps are used.
  6. 6. The Boilie cap can be used to add buoyancy to an existing boilie without having to change the natural spherical appearance.
