Abstract

An electrical cable or power cable 8 for an electrical load such as a lawn mower 7 is suspended in loops from a spring tensioned retractable line 2 stretching between a line box 1 and a clamp 6 secured to the lawnmower 7. Power cable 8 is suspended by collector saddles 4, 5 clamped to the power cable 8 with cable clamps 9. A series of collector balls 3 may be secured to the retractable line 2, the balls reducing in size with distance from the line box 1 and respective ones of the collector saddles 4, 5 being sized to match respective ones of the collector balls 3, such that a ball 3 can pass through the larger saddles 4,5 until it is clamped by its mating saddle. In the retracted state the saddles 4, 5 may be held to the line box 1 by e.g. magnets. The line box 1 may be suspended from a wall or from a stand.

Description

DISCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a system to allow an electric cable to be pulled out and retracted by a spring tensioned container without the safety problem of the transformer action occurring.
The present invention seeks to overcome this problem by providing a system as described by the following, and accompanying drawing / index numbers.
According to the present invention there is provided a retractable line box I with a retractable line 2 is spring tensioned, one end being attached to line box 1 the other end having a quick action cable clamp 6.
Fixed along the line 2 are a series of collector balls 3,either permanently fixed or screw fixed 10 for adjustment of spacing, these balls 3 being progressively larger in diameter in closeness to the line box 1.
Attached to the line box 1 is catchments device to hold series of round saddles 4&5. to match the relevant round balls3,these saddles are attached to the catchments device by tenstion/maget.
Also the retractable line 2 is passed through the round saddles 4&5,so that when line 2 is pulled out the first ball passes through the larger saddles until it is clamped by the collector saddle 4.
Suspended from collector saddle 4 is a quick release cable clamp 9 which is clamped to the lawn mower 7 cable As the retractable line is extended further out the next larger ball and saddle is engaged and so on..
When the tension is released on the retractable line 2 the ball and saddles are drawn back to the boxi, leaving the electric power cable as an outside loop as shown on the attached drawing therefore eliminating the safety problem.
Also shown is two possible means of using the line boxi wall hung line box stand.
Modifations and variations of the present invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art, it is intended that all modifications will be included in the scope of the present invention.
Further the invention not only covers embodiments as described but also combinations of features and embodiments.
