Abstract
A fixing comprises a block 1 accommodating a magnetic element 2 joined or embedded to the block and protruding from an opening in one face of the block, which in use is magnetically connected to a metal plate 4 fixed to the rear of a curtain pole 5. The magnetic block can be secured to the top of any curtain track bracket or Blind track bracket 8 and the pole is kept in place by the magnetic attraction of the magnet and the metal plate. Alternatively a similar principle of connection can be achieved by screwing the magnet to the rear of the curtain pole 11 and securing a metal plate 13 or block 12 to the bracket.
Description
Description
A curtain pole that has a flat section to the rear used in conjunction with a track for a blind or curtain. The new design of a blind or curtain track holding device for a curtain pole is assembled of a block (1) accommodating a magnetic element (2) joined or embedded to the block (1) protruding from an opening at the front of the block, which can be magnetically joined to a metal plate (4) fixed to the rear of the curtain pole (5). The magnetic block can be secured to the top of any curtain track bracket or Blind track bracket (8) and the pole is kept in place by the magnetic attraction of the magnet and the metal plate. Alternatively a similar principle of connection can be achieved by screwing the magnet to the rear of the curtain pole (11) and a metal plate (13) or block (12) fixed to the bracket.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[00011 The present invention relates to an assembly structure of a magnetic holding device suitable for use on a bracket for a window blind track or curtain track, and more particularly to a magnetic element that provides a magnetic fixing device corresponding to a metal plate that is attached to either the rear of a curtain pole or to the top of the bracket. The curtain pole is then supported in front of the curtain track or blind track by the magnetic fixing so as to assure a long term usage and to obtain an effective and adaptable positioning of a horizontal positioning.
[00021 As shown in FIG. 1, a basic structure of a window blind bracket or a curtain track bracket (8) includes primarily a screw hole (6). Onto this the block (1) is mounted using either a screw or bolt. A threaded hole or pilot hole (7) is located in the base of the block.
[0003] referring to figure 1. The magnet is embedded or attached to the front of the block (2). A metal plate which is either flat (4) or has a right angled plate horizontal to its vertical FIG. 3 (9) is attached using screws to the rear of the curtain pole (5). The curtain pole has a flat section at the rear of the pole.
The flat section of the pole is positioned horizontally to the track. The brackets of the track are positioned opposite the metal plates. The magnet that is positioned at the front of the block is in contact with the metal plate which is fixed to the rear of the pole.
[0004] Therefore, upon pulling the blind or curtain all the strain and stress is applied to the tracking and the bracket and not to the curtain pole or the block.
[0005] Moreover, the magnetic element (2) is screwed onto an outer or inner surface of the block. The block can also be made by a plastic injection moulding process or cast from resin. The magnet can then be embedded within the block and the magnet (1) will be encased with only a slight protrusion.
[0006] An alternative similar fixing method can also be achieved as shown in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 A basic structure of a window blind bracket or a curtain track bracket (8) includes primarily a screw hole (6). Onto this the metal plate (13) or metal block (12) is mounted using either a screw or bolt. A threaded hole or pilot hole (14) is located in the base of the plate (13) or block (12). The magnet is then fixed to the rear of the curtain pole using either a screw or nut and bolt.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The invention uses magnetic fixings located on a curtain track bracket or a blind bracket or to the rear of the curtain pole to constitute a secure and strong fixing of a curtain pole to the front of the track. The magnet supports the weight of the curtain pole and finials and holds it in position in front of the track. The curtain pole has a flat rear section. The curtain pole has the function of being used for either a curtain or a blind.
[0008] To enable a further understanding of the said objectives and the technological methods of the invention herein, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiments.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] FIG. 1 shows a side view of the block with flat metal plate, magnet, curtain pole and a curtain track or blind track bracket [0010] FIG. 2 shows a view of a block with magnet and the position of the pilot hole or threaded hole.
[0011] FIG. 3 shows a side view of the block with a 90 degree bent metal plate, magnet, curtain pole and a curtain track or blind track bracket [0012] FIG. 4 shows a side view of the metal block with a magnet fixed to the rear of the curtain pole, and a curtain track or blind track bracket.
[0013] FIG. 5 shows a side view of the metal plate with a magnet fixed to the rear of the curtain pole, and a curtain track or blind track bracket
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0014] Referring to FIG. 1, a magnetic element (2) is screwed or embedded into a block (1). The magnetic element (2) is attracted to a metal plate (4) that is fixed to the rear of the curtain pole (5).
[0015] Referring to FIG. 2, the pilot hole (7) is positioned to allow for the magnet to be either embedded or secured to the front of the block (8) [0016] Referring to FIG. 3, the metal plate is positioned to allow for the magnet to be located opposite the plate and also allow for the projection of the plate to be positioned above the block [0017] Referring to FIG. 4, the magnet is positioned to allow for the metal block (12) to be located opposite the magnet [0018] Referring to FIG. 5, the magnet is positioned to allow for the metal plate (13) to be located opposite the magnet.
[0019] It is of course to be understood that the embodiments described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
