Abstract

Grave borders.-In kerbing for graves and monuments in which an upper rail having a V-shaped lower edge is supported by pillars, under-bars grooved to receive the lower edge of the upper rail, are fitted between the pillars and underneath the rail. Fig. 1 shows under-bars 2 receiving the upper rail 1 and fitted between pillars 4. Corner plates 5 are recessed to receive the under-bars and holed to allow the pillars to pass through. The pillars may be recessed as shown at 8, Fig. 4, to receive the combined rail and under-bar, or may be furnished with a slot 10, Fig. 8, to take reduced portions 11 of the ends of these members, or they may be provided with separate recesses corresponding to the projections 11 on each member. Base slabs may be provided under the under-bars 2.
