Abstract

Target shooting apparatus consisting of a series of clear or coloured LED lights which flash at random and are mounted on a concertina framework that is supported from a goal crossbar and provides a target for players to aim and shoot at. Preferably the concertina section is made from aluminium or other light material and LEDs are provided on the intersections. Optionally a netting covering can be provided to protect the LED system from the force of the ball as it is struck. The apparatus can be powered by rechargeable batteries and may include plastic leg closing caps for the top and bottom of the apparatus.

Description

Introduction
I make this my written application to apply for a patent to protect my interest In the following project and to assist the well being of the future of young and up coming, existing and older amateur and professional football players. Being an ex-professlonal, now an OAP of 72 years of age, I would like to see the Interest developed of all participants.
My project can be used at infant level plus and will encourage the younger generation from the streets and on to the field. I feel my project would be used in schools, leisure centres, youth clubs and all amateur and professional football clubs, as well as an Item parents and grandparents would buyl The equipment can be used in ALL sized goalmouths and will fold away to enable storage when not In use. A full-sized dummy goalkeeper can be used in a full-sized goalmouth.
DescrlDtiofl Basically, the equipment when up and running consists of a series of clear or coloured LED lights, which when active will flash at random double flash during each action and each light, as numbers to each separate design to cover the variation in goalmouth sizes e.g. (7 no. of fixed lights for 6' x 3' goalmouth 14 no. of fixed lights for 12' x 6' goalmouth) All systems as designed are set and will flash randomly, 2 beats per flash, running off an LED system which is secured to a hollow leg or installed inside a hollow leg.
System as planned can be adjusted to suit individual needs i.e. rio of beats per flash, no. of LED's.
Players dribbling a football towards the goals, could play a wall pass with the coach inside the penalty area and attempt, on return of the bail, to shoot at the now flashing LED light. Also, players running with the bail, could dribble towards the goals to a set line and shoot at the flashing LED light In its positiOn. This system will improve and better the co-ordination and reaction times of individual players.
I
DesIfl of EciuiDrneDt 1. Formed as concertina section made up of hollow profile 3'x 2"or 4'x 2"aluminium or other light metal.
2. Intersection, as 1 above, to be formed with coupling fitting designed as no.1 In designed section.
3. All connecting cables are threaded through hollow aluminium section from no.2 to no.3 to form unbreakable circuit as above.
4. All intersection connections, as 1 and 4 above alike, will be fixed to one LED. See design no.2 in designed section.
5. At the base of legs no.5 and no.6, base plates to be fixed approx. 15" in length to stabilise equipment. See design no.3 in designed section.
6. At the top of legs at goalpost's crossbar level no.7 and no.8, a plate approx. 2" wide will outstretch and couple up to existing crossbar to finally stabilise the equipment when in use.
See desIgn no.4 in designed section.
7. All leg ends top and bottom to have plastic closing caps. See no.5 in designed section.
8. Equipment to be approx 12" -18" set inside goalmouth with netting covering face of equipment to protect LED system from force of bail as struck.
9. Fix removable locking plate approx. x /" across equipment at approx 1' -0" above ground level by hook and eye. System equipment to be secured to keep form as per size of football goals to enable participants to enjoy reaction of striking one of the flashing LED lights. See no.6 in designed section.
Materials My patent requires the following materials to manufacture the said sporting equipment: * Aluminium square section of various sizes * Coloured LED's * Cable core * Transformer * Connecting block with regard to the flashing LED system * Re-chargeable batteries * Connecting hollow bracket (core to feed cable) * Plastic leg closing caps for the top and bottom.
Designed Section of Detail 1. CouplIngs to be fixed at all cross-sections using machined hollow tubing as shown 2. FixIng of each LED to hollow leg section by fixing Internally or externally to leg or to end of coupling as no. 1 above.
3. Fixing of 2 base plates to no.5 and no.6 legs to stabilise equipment whilst in use.
4. Re-stabilislng of equipment to goalposts as shown on design of quipment as in no.7 and no. 8, Is formed by single screwed fixing to the top of the legs which when offered to the crossbar will be fixed to same by an adjustable damp over and tightened as r,quired.
S. Each leg top and bottom as open to the hollow section to be closed by a push plastic cap.
6. Fix removable locking plate approx. 1I1rt0t/. across equipment when in use to keep formed as required to goalmouth size.
