Abstract
A planter comprises a plurality of side panels2which are connected to a plurality of corner pieces3to form a square, the planter having an angled base4which has drainage holes. A drip tray5is placed below the base and supported by drip tray rails 6. A perforated liner 1 is placed within the planter. The planter is supported by horizontal rails and four adjustable legs7. A sprinkler system9is connected to one side of the planter. The irrigation system is connected to a hose-pipe. The corner pieces3are shaped so to allow a plurality of planters to be connected together.

Description:
This invention relates to modular planter units for the indoor and outdoor growth of herbs and
vegetables.
The modular planter unit enables the user to grow multiple herbs and vegetables in an outdoor or indoor environment without the need of a dedicated vegetable plot. This enables the user to overcome problems such as a lack of knowledge or time to prepare large areas of soil for suitable growing conditions.
The modular planter unit comprises an interchangeable sprinkler system which when connected to a water hose facilitates the spray of water across the plant bed. The nozzles on the sprinkler bar are arranged so that when water from a connected water hose flows through them, an even spray of water is distributed across the planter bed. Upon first use, the planter bed would be arranged by suitable soil being poured into the angled base plate with drainage holes.
The pull out drip tray enables any excess water to be removed following watering.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the corner pieces and sprinkler bar can be connected together, enabling several units to be connected and watered together.
