Abstract

A fence post anchor comprises a rectangular tube or box (2) sized to receive a fence post in use, at the base of which is a base plate (3) and a cross-plate (5) which spans the inside of the box (2) and is located 15mm above the base plate. The base plate and cross plate each have a central threaded 16mm aperture (8, 4) which corresponds in use with a threaded bar (6) which depends from the base- and cross plates. Each side of the box may have 4 cut out tabs (1) which are pressed into the box and may securely hold a fence post. Alternatively, or in addition, holes may be provided in the sides of the box to receive screws to screw into the post. The tabs may also receive a lay or gravel board. A nut (7) may be provided on the base of the bar for stability in concrete or soil. It may be welded into position or may be adjustable so that it can be tightened onto decking. In use the box may be unscrewed from the bar (6) so that a rotten post can be easily removed.

The invention relates to a Screw on/off multi-purpose Post Anchor The name of the invention is:"LIMPET"Screw on/off Multi-purpose post anchor.

Post Anchors on the market today are awkward clumsy and are not easy to get upright and level.

Once the Post has rotted away it is vary awkward to renew the post.

The object of my invention is to make it easy to set up a post anchor. And with ease change the post when it rots away. My invention has 4 uses. rig i Fig2 Fig3 Fig4

According to the invention there is to provide an improved post Anchor.

A round base welded, With a 5mm plate welded 15mm up inside which have an internal thread.

A socket (box) as such shape complementarily to a post and having a base plate (3) plus a cross -member having a threaded aperture 1 6mm (5) complementary to the threaded member. 16mm (6) Thus allowing the socket (box) to screw on/off. From the threaded bolt (6) with a nut welded to one end to stabilise bolt when in the concrete and for use with decking anchor.

In use the threaded bolt will screw into the threaded member of the post anchor.

Then can be set into concrete or onto a wooden surface. So the post anchor can be screwed on/off when required The post anchor as such can be provided with holes for screws for post fixture. Or Alternatively with andlor additionally turned in tabs can be provided for holding a post when fixed. The turned out tabs can also provide a fixing for Lay boards beneath the fencing panel.

To help understanding of the invention, a specific embodiment thereof will now be described by way of example and a reference to accompanying drawings, in which: Fig 1 It screws on and off for easy changing of the post. Referring to 6 -7 This is the threaded bar with a welded nut that will be bedded in concrete at ground level (when box is attached) And will go through the hole cut in 3-(8) screw into the threaded part 4 of box. Once all parts are joined and set in concrete (fig 2/3) the box can be levelled on top both ways and the concrete left to set, whereas the box can be unscrewed and post can be fitted and screwed back into place.

2 as such is of square steel tube, size to receive a fence post. Conveniently is a pressing bent up into a 75x75mm or lOOxlOOmm internal size. It has a base plate welded across the base 3 and a similar plate (5) 5mm thick welded 15mm up from the base plate 5 this is threaded, to take the threaded bar 6.Above the cross piece are four 1 tabs on two sides turned in, to support post and keep it tight, screws can be added if need be these tabs can be used to support a lay board.
