Abstract
A wetness alarm has a first portion incorporated into a nappy and a second portion that attaches releasably to the nappy and can be re—used. The first portion is attached to the nappy liner 1 by connecting pins 5 & 6. These secure an absorbent pad 2 and a parallel collecting plate 3 inside the liner and attach them to a connecting plate 4 on the exterior of the nappy. The connecting plate is shaped to fit slidingly with a complementary alarm or transmitter unit 9 which has terminals 7 & 8 to engage with the ends of the connecting pins. The unit also contains a battery. Liquid is collected by the absorbent pad and completes a circuit between the connecting pins, triggering an alarm. The device can be used to encourage potty training.
Description
ZWIFFY POTtY TRAINER The ZWIFFY POTFY TRAINER is an invention that is designed to encourage potty training.
The device is designed in two parts, one part connected directly onto the disposable nappy at the manufacturing process of the disposable nappy, this gets disposed of when the nappy has been used. Part two is the external sounder! transmitter which connects directly onto part one, part two is a reusable device. This invention has been designed to help and alert those who use disposable nappies or care for those that wear a disposable nappy, that they have wet into the nappy and require their nappy changing.
The problem this invention solves compared to the modem disposable nappy, is that the modern disposable nappy is designed to allow the urine to pass through the internal dry liner of the nappy keeping the individual dry, with that the individual that is wearing the nappy has no wetness sensation feeling on there skin which is a vital part of potty training. The ZWTFFY POTTY TRA[NER allows an external sound or signal device to be fitted to it when it is connected to the disposable nappy, when the individual wets into the nappy the urine makes contact with the absorbent pad which then makes contact with the collector disc and contact with the contact pins, at this point when the external sounder! transmitter is fitted to the contact disc a sounding noise or signal alerts the individual that the nappy is wet. The use of this device will encourage potty training due to the sound that it makes or signal it sends to an individual or someone who cares for a individual who wears a nappy, this also alerts one of the senses which is hearing and encourages potty training.
The drawing enclosed outlines the design of the device that connects onto the disposable nappy in figure 1, the design of the device that connects onto figure 1 is figure 2 and figure 3 is the position were the whole device is when fitted onto the disposable nappy.
The ZWIFFY POTFY TRAINER figure 1, comprises of six pieces, I the nappy liner, 2 The absorbent Pad, 3 The Collector disc, 4 The Contact disc, 5 and 6 the contact pins. All these parts of the design are all connected together to the disposable nappy at the manufacturing process.
On the external side of the disposable nappy is figure 2 the external sounder! transmitter housing which Connects onto the Contact Disc 4. 7 and 8 are the external housing contact pins, 9 is the External housing.
Figure 3.10 shows the position in relation to were the device fits onto the disposable nappy.
Claims (2)
- Claims 1. Zwiffy potty trainer is a device in two parts that is attached to a disposable nappy in the manufacturing process of the disposable nappy, the first part of the device is designed to fit partly internally to the disposable nappy liner and partly externally to the disposable nappy liner by means of contact pins and is disposable with one single use.
- 2. Zwiffy potty trainer according to claims 1, is the second part of two parts that attaches onto the external part in claims 1, of the disposable nappy this second part houses electronic circuitry and a battery power source, this second part is reusable.
