Abstract

A keyboard is manufactured from copper in order to prevent the transmission through touch of bacterial or viral infection. The keyboard is made from a flat copper sheet backed by rubber or plastic. The keys are provided on the copper face through etching. In an alternative embodiment, a copper keyboard overlay is provided for use with existing standard keyboards. Both the copper keyboard and overlay have no indentations or gaps to prevent the ingress of liquids or dirt.

A semi flexible copper sheet, backed with a flexible materia' (p'astic or rubber), etched on the copper surface with the buttons from a computer keyboard. Generic design to be used either as an over'ay for existing keyboards or to create the top surface for a p'ug in keyboard. The copper surface provides anti bacterial protection e'iminating most forms of bacteria and vira' infection passed by touch. As such the keyboard has no acquered finish. Where used as a generic oveday, the flexib'e rubber or p'astic backing has "points" that make contact with the existing keys of the key board over which it is aid.
Where used as a stand atone keyboard, the key mechanism is incorporated into the backing and connected to the computer using standard computer connections
