Abstract

A boot carrying device comprises a cover top 1, an integral handle 2 and connecting spring clips 3 with integral grips 4 which secure to the tops of the Wellington boots 5. The grips 4 may be of a rubber type material. The handle 2 enables the boots 5 to be picked up, hung up and/or carried. In use, when the handle 2 is lifted it pivots at a point 6 (figure 3) and wedges between the spring clips 3 thus increasing the grip on the boots 5. The cover top 1 prevents the boots from rain when left outside, and also prevents the ingress of objects such as leaves and spiders.

Description

Wellington boot carry top This invention relates to a Wellington boot carry top.

Wellington boots are well known items, commonly available and found in many households and work places.

However, although they are used for protection in the rain, on wet weather walks, in the garden, in the workplace, farm and for stepping in water, mud and snow, when they are not in use they do not connect together in pairs, have a protective cover or easily be picked up together.

To overcome these problems the present invention proposes a Wellington boot carry top which covers the boots open tops and clips the boots together with a handle for carrying and hanging. The cover will protect the boots from rain, when left outside, and objects entering such as spiders and leaves etc. The integral handle will enable easy picking up, hanging up and carrying and the sprung connecting clips clamps the boots together. A preferred handle pivots and when the handle is lifted it pivots and wedges between the spring clips ensuring that the boot grips grip the boots firmly for carrying.

The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows, in two elevations, a Wellington boot carry top above the boots with the spring clips open.

Figure 2 shows, in two elevations, a Wellington boot carry top connected to the boots with the spring clips closed.

Figure 3 shows, in side elevation, a Wellington boot carry top with the pivot handle in the carry lock position.

Figure 1 shows a Wellington boot carry top comprising a body I in the form of a cover top, an integral handle 2 and connecting spring clips 3 with boot grips 4 above a pair of boots 5. The Wellington boot carry top body 1 is held by handle 2 above boots 5 and the spring clips 3 are squeezed to open the boot grips 4. Figure 2 shows the Wellington boot carry top body I lowered on to and connected to the boots 5 by the boot grips 4.

The boots 5 can be carried by the handle 2 and then, when the boots 5 are standing on the ground, released by squeezing the spring clips 3. A preferred handle 2 pivots at pivot point 6, as shown in Figure 3, and when the handle 2 is lifted it pivots and wedges between the spring clips 3 ensuring that the boot grips 4 grip the boots 5 for carrying.

1. Claims 1. A Wellington boot carry top comprising a body in the form of a cover top, a handle and sprung connecting clips with integral boot grips.
2. 2. A Wellington boot carry top according to claim 1, in which the clipping device is sprung with a spring.
3. 3. A Wellington boot carry top according to any of the preceding claims, in which the boot grips have rubber type inserts for gripping the boots.
4. 4. A Wellington boot carry top according to any of the preceding claims, in which the cover can be of various sizes to fit any size boots.
5. 5. A Wellington boot carry top according to any of the preceding claims, in which there is provided a hole on the handle for hanging with or without a cord.
6. 6. A Wellington boot carry top according to any of the preceding claims, in which the handle pivots, when lifted, to wedge between the sprung connecting clips to secure the boot grips onto the boots for carrying.
