Abstract

A fishing pole support for supporting the end of a fishing pole. The support has a support position over the pole and a release position clear of the pole. The support moves horizontally between the two positions via the action of a spring. A rubber pad prevents the support from damaging the pole when in the support position.

Description

There is another pole support system on the market known as the Clever Claw' (pamphlet enclosed) This uses:- (1) A vertical support of hard plastic (2) Is noisy on release (3) Has slight potential to damage wall of fishing pole (4) It needs to move the supports closer together when using a shourter (lighter) pole as weight of pole cannot prevent spring from operating release as an angler regularly when fishing varies the length of pole this moving of support is a time consuming preceedure.
The support system I have designed:- (1) Horizontal support (2) Is silent on release (3) Due to rubber support which takes up shape of pole cannot damage pole wall (4) Does not need to move support when varying length of pole The upward pressure prevents the extension spring on the support to be able to move and therefore holds support in position. As soon as angler produce downward pressure greater than upward pressure the extension spring is able to return to free position and supports moves clear of pole to release position.
