Abstract

A toothbrush has cleaning bristles arranged all around a cleaning end which is distal to a handle for holding the brush. The cleaning end of the brush is tapered. The toothbrush head may be described as circular or having 360° bristles around the cleaning tip. The toothbrush may be either manually or battery/electric powered.

Background
When using a normal toothbrush the bristles are used to brush a desired area. Areas not actively considered are usually neglected and bacteria can begin to build and breed.
Statement Of Invention! Advantages
To overcome this the present invention allows a particular area to be brushed while simultaneously brushing opposite and adjacent areas. The tip of the brush head is tapered to allow easy access to tight or small areas and can be used for inter-dental brushing. In all the user will find it easier to clean teeth, gum and inner cheek areas using the same motion as a conventional toothbrush, saving time and providing a more thorough clean.

Detailed Description
A tapered 360 degree brushing head (Fig. 2) Covered in bristles of varying size and hardness incorporated into the handle. These bristles will have mixed large and small diameters and mixed lengths while the general shape tapers to a conical tip. The handle is designed ergonomically for grip and incorporates a bend for easy access and flexibility to prevent excessive pressure being exerted on teeth and gums.
This invention can also be fashioned with a hollow handle (Fig. 3) This will allow a battery to be placed within it for the purposes of battery assisted operation. The battery may be attached to a vibrating device as well as a rotational device to give battery assisted performance on a horizontal and vertical plane. The handle will be completely water tight and have pressure activated on/off switches.
Specification
This invention relates to a device for brushing teeth with greater efficiency. A conventional toothbrush uses only one plane of bristles to clean a desired area whether gums or teeth. This leaves the opposing side, normally plastic to rub against gums or teeth with little or no cleansing effect. It can also adversely affect sensitive teeth or gums.
This invention will allow more efficient'brusling in'a shorter period of time, while allowing for sensitive teeth and gums. The tapered tip allows easy access to the back teeth and other difficult to reach areas in the mouth. The built in flexibility will protect teeth and gums from the kind of excessive pressure which can cause damage.
The addition of a vibratory and circular motion battery powered unit will further increase the efficiency of this product and can be adjusted to deliver different rates of power.

  1. Dependant Claim I. A toothbrush with a 360 degree conically tapered brushing head according to claim 1, in which the toothbrush is hand operated.
  2. 2. A toothbrush with a 360 degree conically tapered brushing head according to claim 1, in which the toothbrush is hand operated but battery powered.
