Description

Title: Ear Plug Alarms
Background
This invention relates to memory foam ear plugs that incorporate wireless alarm devices.
When conventional ear plugs are used the person using them could over sleep if they fail to hear their alarm.
Statement of Invention
To overcome this problem the memory foam ear plugs contain wireless alarm devices which are set off using a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The user sets the alarm in their mobile phone and the wireless alarm devices are activated at the chosen time using Bluetooth.
Advantages The Problem -Conventional ear plugs are designed to act as a barrier to noise entering the ear and causing annoyance. The problem with using conventional ear plugs is that if the user can not hear anything then it is possible that they will not hear their alarm in the morning.
As most people do not want to oversleep they will not use ear plugs at all and could have a poor night's sleep as a result.
A solution is needed to allow the individual to use ear plugs to help them sleep but designed in a way to prevent them from over sleeping.
The Solution -The advantage of this product is that users can continue to use ear plugs sleep safe in the knowledge that they should not oversleep. Users pre-set the alarm devices using their Bluetooth enabled mobile phone which activates the wireless alarm devices within the memory foam ear plugs at the chosen time. As the foam ear plugs are not attached to any device the user can move freely during the night free of any leads which could cause annoyance. As the alarms are wireless and are set using a Bluetooth enabled phone the user does not have to carry a separate control unit device. Both ear plugs incorporate an alarm device. If one ear plugs falls out of the ear while sleeping then the other alarm should wake the user.
Introduction to Drawings
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings; * Figure 1 shows one of the memory foam ear plugs with the wireless inner alarm device as well as the Bluetooth enabled mobile phone; * Figure 2 shows a memory foam ear plug without the alarm device inserted illustrating that the covers are interchangeable.
Detailed description
Ear plugs made from memory foam 1 contain a small wireless alarm device 2. The alarm devices are powered by small batteries. The user sets the alarm devices 2 using their mobile phone 3 which activates the wireless alarm devices at the pre-set time using Bluetooth. The outer layer of the memory foam ear plugs 4 are interchangeable when required and are designed to hold the alarm device in place. As the alarm devices are designed for daily use they are not disposed of frequently which could result in adverse environmental impacts if disposed of irresponsibly. The ear plugs come in a variety of sizes to allow for use in different sized ear canals.
