Abstract

246,249. Dixon, A. R. Nov. 8, 1924. Respirators. - In a combined goggle mask and breathing mask intended more particularly for use in aviation, the gas is supplied through an overhead conduit and is directed against the inner surface of'the goggles to prevent deposition of moisture thereon. As shown. the gas-supply conduit 3 is led over the wearer's head and is bifurcated, the gas being liberated through flattened nozzles 6 against the goggle glasses 7; exhaled gas escapes through an outlet 8. The goggle mask 1 and breathing mask 2 are joined bv distance-pieces 10, the breathing mask being loosely made, as at 11, to facilitate adjustment. The combined mask may be attached to a helmet by hooks 13 connected to the mask by springs 15 and engaging eyes 14 on the helmet; the helmet may be provided also with a guide 16 for the gassupply conduit. Means for warming the gas may be provided.
