Abstract

A paint roller comprises a double head for holding at least on paint roller sleeve/. The roller head is connected to a handle by means of a stem. The stem is in two partsA, A1, which are connected together by means of a helically wound tension springB. This allows the stem to be flexible about the spring forming joint. The joint may also contain a ball bearing C within the spring Bto allow for greater flexibility. The roller is therefore able to bend to fit behind radiators or to paint both sides of railings. The roller can be converted to a single roller by removing one of the roller sleeves.

This invention relates to a twin-headed long handled paint roller.
Difficulty is found in areas to be decorated owing to access in areas such has behind radiators e.t.c. which require great effort in controlling the movement of the roller.
The same applies in the decoration of railings, were there is the requirement to move physically to the other side' or use 2 personnel in order to complete decoration, with also the need to lean over to complete areas that are being decorated. On a flat surface the need to keep adding paint to a single roller in order to complete the works. On fencing were there is 2 areas to be decorated the need to go to the other-side to complete the decoration. This difficulty arises in many cases of decoration.
This invention using 2 rollers controlled on the roller rod by means of a spring, ball-bearing joint allows for much greater flexibility. With the ability to decorate both sides of railings at the same time and with the flexibility of the roller heads the ease in decorating behind radiators without the awkwardness of forcing the decorating tool, into difficult positional positions in usage.
The ability to bend into difficult areas to be decorated then for the rollers to return to there original position by means of the spring ball-bearing joint.
With the added bonus of using twin rollers the allowance of using double the volume of paint hence given greater micron coverage. The ability to decrease the requirement of loading' the rollers in working practices.
The ease of loading' the rollers from a paint tray by means of the flexibility.
The invention also allows to revert to a single roller application by simply removing one of the roller heads if required.
Allowance for mass-produced roller sleeves in all formats to be used with the invention, rad-rollers, mohair, sponge e.t.c, The invention also allows for the user to stand back' from the areas being decorated hence allowing the flexibility of the rollers to reach the difficult areas so helping the awkwardness of areas which require difficult positional work to be reached more simply.
