Abstract

245,923. Alexander, C. St. G. E. Dec. 23,1924. Measures of capacity. -Relates to appliances of the kind comprising a bowl member, a handle, and a knife member capable of being moved across the mouth of the bowl to remove surplus material, and consists in pivotally mounting the knife. The knife 3 which conforms to the shape of the mouth of the bowl is pivoted to the handle near the bowl and is provided with a quadrant 4 gearing with a quadrant 6 forming part of a trigger 5 also pivoted to the handle and normally urged away from the handle by a spiral torsion spring, surrounding the pivot pin 14. When the trigger is pressed by the thumb against the handle the knife 3 moves across the bowl. Incorporated in combination is a second trigger 11 in one with a quadrant which through a gear 13 and rod 10 rotates a knife 9 which scrapes along the inner surface of the bowl and ejects the contents.
