Abstract
245,896. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., and Clinker, R. C. Nov. 28, 1924. Measuring consumption of petrol and other fluids with respect to speed and revolution of motors.-In apparatus as described in Specification 245,886 for measuring the rate of flow of a liquid, an auxiliary container 1 is arranged between the indicating device 9 and the fuel tank 2. A three-way cock 14 is arranged, as shown, to control connection between the tank, the container, and the carburettor pipe 5. The cock may be operated by hand, or automatically by driving means from the road wheel. The container 1 may be of transparent material, the level of liquid being read against a scale 13. In use, the cock 14 is turned so that the container 1 is filled, and then the pipe 5 is fed solely by the container until a predetermined time has elapsed, or a predetermined distance has been run, the consumption being indicated by the devices 9 or 13.
