Abstract
A socket adaptor has a body 11 with an extension 13 portion. The body has a plurality of sockets 12 on the front, and the extension portion has pins 14 on the back, to plug into a wall socket outlet plate 2, such as a mains socket. The pins are lower than the sockets, so that the leads 31 of plugs 3 plugged into the adaptor are not as sharply bent as if the sockets were level with the pins. The adaptor may have switches (15, Fig 5) for each socket and may have supports (16, Fig 6) to mount the adaptor on the wall.
Description
SOCKET 2452304
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(a) Field of the Invention
The present invention is related to a socket, and more particularly to one that is applied in a field of electric connector.
(b) Description of the Prior Art:
In providing a repair or betterment job for a building, a given standard of cabling layout applies in electric engineering. For maintain nice and neat appearance, an outlet plate is usually disposed at a skirt of wall and comparatively less number of jack, usually jacks arranged in a triangle or two jacks disposed on same level are provided; and the distance between the socket and the floor is smaller. An associate power strip with or without lead is applied to increase number of jacks. Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawings is a schematic view showing a back of a socket of the prior art; and Fig. 2 is a schematic view showing a front of the socket in use. Multiple jacks 12' are disposed on a front 11' of a socket 1 for connection to terminals of an electric appliance and a three jacks arranged in a regular triangle are disposed on a back of the socket 1' to receive insertion of a outlet plate 2'. When a plug 3' from a terminal of the electric appliance is inserted into jacks 12' on the front of the socket 1', a section of a conductor 31' approximate to the plug 3' will be damaged due to seriously crooked leading to shorter service life of the conductor 31' since the outlet plate 2' is so close to a ground 4'.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a socket that is provided with an extension portion at a lower end of an ordinary socket without carrying any lead and has pins adapted to an outlet plate disposed on a back of the extension portion to increase distance between the socket and a ground, thus to warrants nonnal service life of a conductor from a terminal of an electric appliance by preventing it from being damaged when seriously crooked.
To achieve the purpose, the present invention includes a body, multiple jacks disposed on a front of the body that connect to subscriber's end and multiple pins to be adapted to the outlet plate are disposed on a back of the body; an extension portion is disposed on a lower end of the body; those multiple pins are disposed on a back of the extension portion.
The extension portion is disposed at a center of the lower end of the body.
Wherein, two pins or three pins are disposed on the back of the extension portion; and three pins when provided indicate an arrangement of a regular triangle.
Wherein, those multiple jacks disposed on the front of the body for connection to the subscriber end are related to three jacks, or two jacks, or a set of multi-purpose jaclç and when three jacks or the set of multi-purpose jack are provided, they indicate an arrangement of a regular triangle.
Wherein, each of those jacks disposed on the front of the body for connection to subscriber end is connected to a control switch.
Wherein, three jacks arranged in a regular triangle are disposed on a front of the extension portion.
Wherein, two supports each with length adjustable are respectively disposed on both sides on the back of the body.
When compared to the prior art, a construction of the socket of the present invention delivers the following advantages: the extension portion added to the lower end of the body of a regular socket without lead allows pins adapted to an outlet plate to be disposed on the back of the extension portion to increase a distance between the socket and the ground practically equal to a height of the entire extension portion, so that when a plug from a terminai of an electric appliance is inserted into the socket, a conductor of the terminal of the electric appliance is given sufficient space to prevent it from being damaged when seriously crooked thus to warrant a 0 normal service life of the conductor; and two supports each with length adjustable being disposed on both sides on the back of the body provides the socket three supports to significantly enhance the stability of the socket.
The present invention for being simple in construction, practical and convenient in use, and allowing lower production cost is worthy of being promoted.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig. I is a schematic view showing a back of a socket of the prior art.
Fig. 2 is a schematic view showing a front of the socket of the
prior art in use.
Fig. 3 is a schematic view showing a back of a socket of a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 4 is a schematic view showing a front of the socket of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use.

Fig. 6 is a schematic view showing a front of the other preferred embodiment of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED
EMBODIMENTS
Referrmg to Figs. 3 and 4, a socket 1 of a preferred embodiment of the present invention is comprised of a body 11 having on its front disposed with multiple jacks 12 connected to subscriber end, and those jacks 12 may be related to a set of 3-jack, 2-jack, or multi-purpose jack (applicable for receiving insertion of three-pin or two-pin plug); and an extension portion 13 disposed at a center on a lower end of the body 11, and the extension portion 13 may be disposed on either side on the lower end of the body 11. The body 11 and the extension portion 13 of the socket 1 approximite1y indicate a T shape. Multiple pins 14 adapted to the outlet plate 2 are disposed on the back of the body 11 and related to a set of three pins arranged in a regular triangle or two pins as illustrated in Fig. 6.
As illustrated in Fig. 4 when the socket 1 is adapted to the outlet plate 2, the body 11 is practically raised for a height of the entire extension portion 13 since that the body 11 is located at where over the entire extension portion 13, and that those pins 14 disposed on the back of the extension portion 12 are connected to the outlet plate 2. Accordingly, when the plug 3 from the terminal of the electric appliance is connected to those jacks 12 disposed on the front of the body 11, a sufficient room is reserved between where below the body 11 and the ground to prevent the conductor 31 closer to the socket 3 of the terminal of the electric appliance from being damaged when seriously crooked thus to warrant the normal service life of the conductor 31.
Now referring to Fig. S for another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a control switch 15 is disposed by each jack 12 on the body 11 and connected to the jacks 12 so to control electric conduction status between the jacks 12 and the plug 3 of the terminal of the electric appliance connected to the jacks 12. To fully utilize resources, a set of additional jack 12 is provided on the front of the extension portion to expand utility of the socket 1.
Fig. 6 shows a back of that illustrated in Fig. 5, wherein, two supports 16 each with its length adjustable are respectively disposed on both sides on the back of the body 11. Whereas the outlet plate 2 is provided with a given thickness for it to rise from a surthce of wall and the body 11 of the socket 1 is usually longer to make it entirely suspended in the air when inserted with the outlet plate 2, the socket 1 becomes extremely unstable since there is only one support from three ping 14.
Addition of two supports 16 significantly enhances the stability of the socket 1.
