Abstract

A pet hutch or housing may have an electrically heated unit 2 located in a roof space or ceiling mounted slab 1 mounted on a polystyrene sheet 3. An electrical lead or cable 5 may be provided. The heat pad may be suspended via stretch cables affixed to hooks at each end. The device may have a laminated construction.

Description

Pet Heater This Invention relates to outdoor housed small domestic pets such as Guinea Pigs, Rabbits & Ferrets.
The jecommended comfortable temperature for this group of pets Is approx 18 -24oC.
During the winter months temperatures can fall far below this recommendation.
Meaning the health, welfare and comfort of these animals Is severely compromised.
To overcome this, the present Invention (as two different embodiments) proposes an electrical devise designed to heat an area within an outdoor hutch for small mammals.
This will ensure throughout the winter months your pet will be maintained at a comfortable temperature with a specifically designed appliance offering the animal respite from the cold.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings of the two embodiments of the design: Qjhng mounted heat slab Figure one show the appliance complete according to the invention Figure two shows the parts of the appliance before being sealed together A heated ceiling slab (1) is the main frame of this Invention. This is a portable plastic structure, sealed containing a laminated heat pad (2) on top of a polystyrene sheet (3).
The power supply (4) Is designed to exit through the lip of the roof of the hutch, so It is not able to come Into contact with the animal. The cable (5) is suitable for outdoor use.
The slab is held In place by two stretch cables with hooks at each end (6) these connect to four eye hooks (7) to secure the heat slab to the hutch ceiling.
Heated nena box Figure three show the appliance complete according to the Invention Figure four shows the parts of the appliance before being put together The Inside of the nesting box roof sectIon (8) contaIns the heated element. This nesting house Is a portable plastic structure, the roof Is sealed In the same way as the heat slab containing a laminated heat pad (2) on top of a polystyrene sheet (3). The roof is then sealed and placed on top of the nesting box. The plastic nesting box has an entrance (9), and no floor (10).
The power supply (11) is desIgned to exit through the roof of the nesting box and secured along the ceiling of the hutch, leaving the hutch unable to come into contact with the animal. The cable (5) is suitable for outdoor use.
The heated slab and nesting box are designed so that they can install inside any hutch.
