Abstract

A device for cleaning a toilet bowl comprises a water spray head which is either attached to the underside of the toilet lid or fitted within the inside lip of the bowl. The spray head is preferably in the form of a large diameter shower head type rose or in the form of an annular perforated tube with water jet apertures. The spray head is suitably connected to either the water mains or to a pressurised water system by means of a flexible pipe and a control valve.

Description

Description
W.C. Toilet. Power Cleaning Device Conventional Water Closet (W.C.). flushing systems comprising a storage water reservoir and gravity or syphonic discharge, often do not clear all deposits from the W.C.bowl or pan. Additional cleaning is often required, and a toilet brush is the normal tool used.
Disadvantages of the use of a brush include: It is normally left beside the W.C. and is a harbour for germs.
The physical process of cleaning the W.C. bowl is a procedure often ignored by users.
According to the present invention there is provided a means of cleaning the toilet bowl, subsequent to the use of the normal flushing system by means of a water spray system.
The invention comprises a water spray head which is either a) Attached to the underside of the W.C. bowl lid.
b) Fitted within the inside to lip of the W.C. bowl In configuration a) the spray head may be in the form of a large diameter showerhead type rose. In configurations a) or b) the spray head may alternatively be in the form of a annular ring of tube, perforated with water jet apertures around it's circumference. The jet holes are positioned to direct the water jets onto the inner surface of the bowl.
Figure 1 shows an example of the device that uses a ring type spray head attached to the underside of the W.C. lid.
The spray head is connected to the mains pressure,or pressurised/pumped water system by flexible pipe and a control valve. The valve is used to operate the cleaning device after W.C. flushing (with W.C. lid closed in the case of configuration a). The valve may be a push button, timed device to prevent water wastage and prolonged misuse.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims W.C. Toilet. Power Cleaning Device 1. A Device that provides a
means of cleaning the toilet bowl, subsequent to the use of the normal flushing system by means of a water spray system, obviating the need for a toilet brush.
  2. 2. A Device which provides a means of cleaning the toilet bowl as claimed in Claim I, comprising a spray head mounted either on the underside of the W.C.
bowl lid, or inside the top lip of the W.C. bowl.
  3. 3. A Device which provides a means of cleaning the toilet bowl as claimed in Claim I or Claim 2 wherein the spray head is either a shower type spray head when mounted on the underside of the W.C. lid, or a ring of pipe with jet apertures around its circumference which may be used in either of the mounting configurations described in Claim 2.
  4. 4. A Device as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein its feed water is obtained from mains water pressure where adequate, or from a pumped or pressurised system in other cases. z
