Abstract
244,927. Twigg, R. E., and Rayner, C., L. Jan. 8, 1925. Presses. -A necktie press comprises press boards a, b which are connected by springs c and are adapted to be forced apart by a holder f<1> around which the necktie is wrapped before insertion into the press. The holder comprises two panels hinged together bookwise, as by a strip of leather or fabric f<3>, and is provided with finger-grip recesses. The press boards are flared at the insertion end, and are bevelled at B to correspond with bevelled portions of end-pieces e attached to the springs c. The end-pieces when grasped by the hand act as wedges to separate the press boards. A similar construction with a separating panel is employed for a press with two holders. Spiral springs may replace the C- springs or C-springs may be arranged to embrace edges of press and have their ends bearing on the press boards, the middle portions being attached to T-sectioned strips gripped between the edges of the press boards. Other constructions are described with systems of spring wires and with strip metal springs.
