Abstract

A battery is disposed in a thermally insulating box or packaging to control the temperature making the battery more efficient in hot and cold conditions hence energy saving and longer battery life. The material of the container may also be chemical resistant and fire resistant. It may be suitable for DIY assembly such as by folding over and interconnecting panels such as shown to form a box.

Description

BATTERY INSULATION BOX
The invention relates to the temperature of batteries, temperature affects can lead to premature failure of the cell.
Testing has shown that continuous exposure to 45c will reduce the cycle life of a battery by 60% and with all batteries the self-discharge rate doubles with each lOc increase in temperature.
Operating or storing a battery in too high or too low ambient temperatures can cause premature failure.
To overcome the high and low temperature the invention will stabilize the temperature of the battery making the unit a longer shelf life plus energy saving and a safer unit.
The insulation material is chemical and lire resistant.
The insulation box is DIY and fits all battery fittings
