Abstract

A light permeable stick for a traffic use includes a handle assembly, a light permeable barrel assembly mounted on an end portion of the handle assembly, a lighting assembly mounted in the barrel assembly to emit light outwardly from the barrel assembly, and a generator assembly mounted on the handle assembly and electrically connected to the lighting assembly to generate an electric power and to supply the electric power to the lighting assembly. Thus, the user only needs to rotate the rotary arm successively to drive the gear box to drive the generating motor to generate an electric power so as to light the light emitting members so that the stick has a manually operated generating function. The traffic baton comprises a dynamo to facilitate a manual wind-up charging function.

Description

LIGHT PERMEABLE STICK HAVING A MANUALLY OPERATED
GENERATING FUNCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a stick, and more particularly to a light permeable stick for a traffic use.
2. Description of the Related Art
A stick for a traffic use has a lighting function to provide a warning or guiding effect to the people so as to facilitate the traffic policeman conducting the traffic. A conventional stick comprises a handle, a hollow transparent barrel mounted on an end of the handle, a plurality of light emitting members mounted in the barrel to emit light outwardly from the barrel, and a plurality of batteries mounted in the handle and electrically connected to the light emitting members so as to provide an electric power to the light emitting members.
However, the light of the conventional stick is interrupted when the electric power supplied by the batteries is exhausted, thereby causing inconvenience to a user when using the stick. In addition, the user has to prepare spare batteries, thereby causing inconvenience to the user when carrying the stick.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a stick, comprising a handle assembly, a light permeable barrel assembly mounted on an end portion of the handle assembly, a lighting assembly mounted in the barrel assembly to emit light outwardly from the barrel assembly, and a generator assembly mounted on the handle assembly and electrically connected to the lighting assembly to generate an electric power and to supply the electric power to the lighting assembly.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a light permeable stick having a manually operated generating function.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a stick, wherein the user only needs to rotate the rotary arm successively to drive the gear box to drive the generating motor to generate an electric power so as to light the light emitting members so that the stick has a manually operated generating function, thereby enhancing the versatility of the stick.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a stick, wherein the generated electric power is stored in the storage battery and is supplied to light the light emitting members when in use, so that the stick is lighted successively by the electric power, thereby facilitating the user operating the stick.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a stick, wherein the stick lights or blinks successively without interruption so that the user needs not to prepare spare batteries, thereby facilitating the user carrying the stick.
Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to the drawings and initially to Figs. 1-5, a light permeable stick in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a handle assembly 10, a light permeable barrel assembly 40 mounted on an end portion of the handle assembly 10, a lighting assembly 30 mounted in the barrel assembly 40 to emit light outwardly from the barrel assembly 40, and a generator assembly 20 mounted on the handle assembly 10 and electrically cormected to the lighting assembly 30 to generate an electric power and to supply the electric power to the lighting assembly 30.
The handle assembly 10 includes a handle body 11 having an inside formed with a receiving chamber 111 to receive the generator assembly 20, a cover 12 mounted on the handle body 11 to cover the generator assembly 20, and a control switch 14 (see Fig. 3) mounted on the handle body 11 and connected between the generator assembly 20 and the lighting assembly 30 to control the electric power from the generator assembly 20 to the lighting assembly 30. The handle body 11 of the handle assembly 10 has an end portion formed with a mounting portion 112. The cover 12 of the handle assembly 10 has a periphery formed with a receiving groove 121 having a side formed with a passage 122 connected to the receiving chamber 111 of the handle body 11.
The lighting assembly 30 includes a main circuit board 31, a secondary circuit board 32 electrically connected to the main circuit board 31, and a plurality of light emitting members (or diodes) 33 mounted on and electrically connected to the main circuit board 31 and the secondary circuit board 32. The main circuit board 31 of the lighting assembly 30 has a strip shape and has a first end extended into and located in the receiving chamber 111 of the handle body 11 and a second end connected to the secondary circuit board 32. The secondary circuit board 32 of the lighting assembly 30 has a flat disk shape and is perpendicular to the main circuit board 31.
The barrel assembly 40 includes a transparent extension barrel 41 mounted on the handle body 11 of the handle assembly 10 to receive the lighting assembly 30, a positioning member 42 mounted in the extension barrel 41 to position the secondary circuit board 32 of the lighting assembly 30, and an end cap 43 mounted on the extension barrel 41 to retain the positioning member 42. The extension barrel 41 of the barrel assembly 40 has a first end formed with a mounting portion 412 mounted on the mounting portion 112 of the handle body 11. The positioning member 42 of the barrel assembly 40 is mounted in a second end of the extension barrel 41 and has an inside formed with a plurality of positioning holes 421 to position the light emitting members 33 on the secondary circuit board 32. The end cap 43 of the barrel assembly 40 is mounted on the second end of the extension barrel 41 to seal the second end of the extension barrel 41 and is enclosed around the positioning member 42.
The generator assembly 20 includes a storage battery 23 electrically connected to the main circuit board 31 of the lighting assembly 30, a generating motor 22 electrically connected to the storage battery 23, a gear box 21 connected to the generating motor 22, and a rotary arm 24 rotatably mounted on the handle assembly 10 and connected to the gear box 21 to drive the gear box 21 by rotation of the rotary arm 24 to drive the generating motor 22 to generate the electric power. The rotary arm 24 of the generator assembly is received in the receiving groove 121 of the cover 12 and has an end extended through the passage 122 of the cover 12 and connected to the gear box 21. The rotary arm 24 of the generator assembly 20 is bendable and foldable, so that when the rotary arm 24 is folded, the rotary arm 24 is fully hidden in the receiving groove 121 of the cover 12 and when the rotary arm 24 is expanded from the receiving groove 121 of the cover 12, the rotary arm 24 is rotatable successively to drive the generating motor 22 to generate the electric power by co-operation of the gear box 21.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 6, when the rotary arm 24 is expanded from the receiving groove 121 of the cover 12, the rotary arm 24 is rotatable successively to drive the gear box 21 to drive the generating motor 22 to generate the electric power which is stored in the storage battery 23 and is supplied to the main circuit board 31 of the lighting assembly 30 by operation of the control switch 14 so as to light the light emitting members 33 of the lighting assembly 30, so that the stick has a lighting function.
Accordingly, the user only needs to rotate the rotary arm 24 successively to drive the gear box 21 to drive the generating motor 22 to generate an electric power so as to light the light emitting members 33 so that the stick has a manually operated generating function, thereby enhancing the versatility of the stick. In addition, the generated electric power is stored in the storage battery 23 and is supplied to light the light emitting members 33 when in use, so that the stick is lighted successively by the electric power, thereby facilitating the user operating the stick. Further, the stick lights or blinks successively without interruption so that the user needs not to prepare spare batteries, thereby facilitating the user carrying the stick.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims (8)

1. A stick, comprising: a handle assembly; a light permeable barrel assembly mounted on an end portion of the handle assembly; a lighting assembly mounted in the barrel assembly to emit light outwardly from the barrel assembly; a generator assembly mounted on the handle assembly and electrically connected to the lighting assembly to generate an electric power and to supply the electric power to the lighting assembly.
2. The stick in accordance with claim 1, wherein the handle assembly includes a handle body having an inside formed with a receiving chamber to receive the generator assembly, and a cover mounted on the handle body to cover the generator assembly.
3. The stick in accordance with claim 2, wherein the handle assembly further includes a control switch mounted on the handle body and connected between the generator assembly and the lighting assembly to control the electric power from the generator assembly to the lighting assembly.
4. The stick in accordance with claim 2, wherein the lighting assembly includes a main circuit board, a secondary circuit board electrically connected to the main circuit board, and a plurality of light emitting members mounted on and electrically connected to the main circuit board and the secondary circuit board.
5. The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the main circuit board of the lighting assembly has a first end extended into and located in the receiving chamber of the handle body and a second end connected to the secondary circuit board.

The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the barrel assembly includes a transparent extension barrel mounted on the handle body of the handle assembly to receive the lighting assembly, a positioning member mounted in the extension barrel to position the secondary circuit board of the lighting assembly, and an end cap mounted on the extension barrel to retain the positioning member.
7. The stick in accordance with claim 6, wherein the handle body of the handle assembly has an end portion formed with a mounting portion, and the extension barrel of the barrel assembly has a first end formed with a mounting portion mounted on the mounting portion of the handle body.
8. A light-permeable stick substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings. I.

8. The stick in accordance with claim 6, wherein the positioning member of the barrel assembly has an inside formed with a plurality of positioning holes to position the light emitting members on the secondary circuit board.

The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the generator assembly includes a storage battery electrically connected to the main circuit board of the lighting assembly, a generating motor electrically connected to the storage battery, a gear box connected to the generating motor, and a rotary arm rotatably mounted on the handle assembly and connected to the gear box to drive the gear box by rotation of the rotary arm to drive the generating motor to generate the electric power.

The stick in accordance with claim 9, wherein the cover of the handle assembly has a periphery formed with a receiving groove having a side formed with a passage connected to the receiving chamber of the handle body, and the rotary arm of the generator assembly is received in the receiving groove of the cover and has an end extended through the passage of the cover and connected to the gear box.

The stick in accordance with claim 9, wherein the rotary arm of the generator assembly is bendable and foldable, so that when the rotary arm is folded, the rotary arm is fully hidden in the receiving groove of the cover and when the rotary arm is expanded from the receiving groove of the cover, the rotary arm is rotatable successively to drive the generating motor to generate the electric power by co-operation of the gear box.
12. The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the main circuit board of the lighting assembly has a strip shape.
13. The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the secondary circuit board of the lighting assembly has a flat disk shape.
14. The stick in accordance with claim 4, wherein the secondary circuit board of the lighting assembly is perpendicular to the main circuit board.
15. The stick in accordance with claim 7, wherein the positioning member of the barrel assembly is mounted in a second end of the extension barrel.
16. The stick in accordance with claim 15, wherein the end cap of the barrel assembly is mounted on the second end of the extension barrel to seal the second end of the extension barrel.
17. The stick in accordance with claim 15, wherein the end cap of the barrel assembly is enclosed around the positioning member.
18. A stick for traffic use constructed and arranged to operate substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawinbs.

A light-permeable stick in accordance with Claim 1, wherein the generator assembly includes a storage battery electrically connected to the main circuit board of the lighting assembly, a generating motor electrically connected to the storage battery, a gear box connected to the generating motor, and a rotary arm rotatably mounted on the handle assembly and connected to the gear box to drive the gear box by rotation of the rotary arm to drive the generating motor to generate the electric power.

A light-permeable stick in accordance with Claim 2, wherein the cover of the handle assembly has a periphery formed with a receiving groove having a side formed with a passage connected to the receiving chamber of the handle body, and the rotary arm of the generator assembly is received in the receiving groove of the cover and has an end extending through the passage of the cover and connected to the gear box.
4. A light-permeable stick in accordance with Claim 2, wherein the rotary arm of the generator assembly is bendable and foldable so that, when the rotary arm is folded, the rotary arm is fully hidden in the receiving groove of the cover and, when the rotary arm is extended from the receiving groove of the cover, the rotary arm is rotatable successively to drive the generating motor to generate the electric power by co-operation of the gear box.
